"What question?" Davien asked with a straight face.
Bel's eyes nearly jumped out of her skull. "You heard me," she insisted.
"Yes, I do not deny that," he replied as he stood over her, "but you have asked me a handful of questions since I got into your room. If you don't repeat it, how am I supposed to know what question exactly you're referring to?"
Bel scrunched up her face. "The first question?" she replied.
"Is it safe?" he asked with a frown.
"What? No!"
"That's the first question you asked me."
"No!" Bel said adamantly. "The question before that."
Davien paused and thought it through, then shook his head. "I'm afraid you'll have to ask the question again. I do not recall as the question wasn't directed at me."
