"Oh," the woman's voice echoed. "I did hear His Highness got married. A human Princess, I see. Well then, you can leave her in my hands. I'll be sure to treat her with the utmost care. Also, you know better than to call me Madame Vanessa."
Stelian didn't reply. All Bel heard was a loud thud as Stelian jumped to the ground. The carriage shook a little, the weight on it drastically reduced, but it stabilized almost immediately, and she heard his footsteps as he walked around the carriage.
Stelian wasn't as silent as Davien, and it made sense. He was much larger and made of pure muscle. She doubted he could move without the earth beneath him protesting his weight.
However, it wasn't Stelian's face she saw first but that of Madame Vanessa. Bel couldn't hide her surprise. She had expected someone older, at least middle-aged, but the lady in question didn't look too older than her elder sister. However, her eyes shone as though she knew much more than she let on.
