Chapitre 19: Chapter 16 Monkeys Without an Emperor_1

After the Husky and the Samoyed were brought back, Qin Ming asked Jerry to take good care of Tom and the dogs, and he himself dived back into his research.

So, Jerry became the base's official poop scooper, wandering around with the two dogs. However, what puzzled him was that the Husky firmly refused to enter the elevator and just stayed on the first floor, thankfully, the activity room there was big enough.

The other people at the base also knew that two dogs had arrived; others were fine, but especially Anna, who would come up and furiously pet Tom whenever she had the chance.

Eventually, Tom would hide behind Jerry whenever he saw her, fearing his fur would be petted off!

Before they knew it, three days had passed.

Qin Ming emerged from the laboratory with a look of joy on his face,

Under his leadership, a batch of Overclocking Potion was about to be successfully developed, and while the group working on Immunotherapy was still researching, they had already successfully created a targeted drug that could delay late-stage liver cancer.

It was truly a double blessing.

In the following months, Qin Ming at least didn't have to worry about cancerous cells invading his arteries, causing sudden cardiac death.

"Where's Tom?"

"They should be in the first-floor activity room now."

In the past few days, Tom seemed to have reached the peak of his dog life, enjoying various delicacies and the company of pretty dogs.

The base's food had made his coat smoother and shinier.

The only imperfection was that woman.

Because of Anna, Tom had almost exposed himself several times; he didn't want to reveal that he was not an ordinary dog.

He felt that he was very happy with his life as it was, that things were just fine this way.

When Qin Ming arrived on the first floor, he saw Tom and the Samoyed nuzzling each other, displaying the intimacy of lovers, so he knew the time had come.

Therefore, Jerry was sent out to buy a male dog, emphasizing that it had to be a robust one in heat, and although Jerry didn't understand, he still did as instructed. He felt like Dr. Qin was picking on the dogs, first buying a female dog, and now a male one.

Could it be that he had some special relationship with the female owner of the pet shop?

Jerry buried his doubts deep in his heart.

There was no way out, he didn't dare to speak up or ask questions.

Tom, in the distance, perked up his ears to eavesdrop, his mind beginning to spin:

[That man called Dr. Qin told Jerry to go out and buy a male dog. Jerry has always been nice to me; is he trying to find a friend for me?]

[That's great, I'm getting a new friend.]

He was very pleased inside, but he didn't show it on the surface and pretended not to understand.

The two dogs were playing happily.

An hour later, Jerry returned, leading a robust, yellow-haired German Shepherd in heat. At the sight of the Samoyed, the German Shepherd's eyes gleamed with desire like a lecher who had been holding back for too long at the sight of a beauty.

It barked excitedly, straining to break free from the leash to pounce, but was firmly held back by Jerry, "Has this dog gone mad?"

"No, it's just in heat."

Glancing at the yellow-haired German Shepherd, lustful and impatient, then at Tom, who was showing affection with the Samoyed, a mischievous smile crossed Qin Ming's face.

Tom, are you ready?

At this moment, Tom had not yet realized the seriousness of the situation.

But as Jerry separated the two dogs, bringing the Samoyed and the German Shepherd together, the Erha finally sensed something was amiss.

"Dr. Qin, do we really have to do this?"

"Jerry, don't question me, just do as you're told."

If the Samoyed were the female lead and Tom the male lead, Jerry felt like he was the villain in a comic book, bringing over a yellow-haired dog to cuck the male lead during the romance between the lead characters.

It might work with people, but not with dogs.

The female lead with tearful eyes, the yellow-haired dog close to dominating, and the restrained male lead in a furious impotence.

[I may be a dog, but you guys are truly not human!]

[Damn it, she's mine, how can you do this!]

[I can't expose myself, I must not expose myself.]

[No!!!]

As the yellow-haired dog was about to succeed, Tom couldn't hold back anymore and rushed forward. Qin Ming raised his hand as a signal, and Jerry immediately pulled the two dogs apart upon receiving the order.

The German Shepherd, held back, howled desperately, while the Samoyed ran to Tom in fear.

Qin Ming looked down at the Erha at his feet and said with a kind smile.

"Tom, I know you can understand me. I won't hurt you; I just want to study your changes,"

"As long as you follow my instructions, I'll let you go, and you and she can continue to live happily."

Tom was nervous inside, but ultimately he gave in, making an OK sign with his paw on the ground.

And so, Erha was placed on the experimental platform, and after a scan by the instruments, researchers discovered that its brain activation level had reached 60%, and its cerebral cortex had not only thickened and developed more folds, but its structure had also changed.

A new research project was established in the laboratory, focusing on the study of animal brain activation.

Having dealt with the dogs, it was time to deal with the monkeys.

Qin Ming felt very busy.

He used telekinesis to see that the monkeys were plotting in secret, ready to take action.

They couldn't hold back any longer.

The Monkey Tribe wanted to escape, these clever monkeys, which had developed their brains after consuming NZT, called themselves the Monkey Tribe.

When Qin Ming first arrived at the base, he was aware of it.

But initially, only a few monkeys had become smarter after the NZT experiment, and there were still many ordinary monkeys. After his arrival, more and more experiments were conducted, and the number of the Monkey Tribe rapidly expanded.

By today, all the monkeys in the cages were the clever ones of the Monkey Tribe.

The time had come.

With Tom as this special experimental subject, these ordinary experimental monkeys had lost their value.

Qin Ming ordered Jerry to take a gun and clear out those monkeys.

Jerry, who never questioned Qin Ming's orders, hesitated. After a moment, he seemed to make up his mind and spoke.

"Dr. Qin, why do you want to kill them? They are our friends, you shouldn't do this."

"Give me the gun."

Under his puzzled gaze, Qin Ming took the gun, unloaded all the bullets from it, and then tossed it back to Jerry:

"Go down and let out the monkey you are closest to, give it the gun, and you'll understand."

Jerry seemed to understand. He still couldn't believe it, but a few minutes later, when the truth was laid bare before him, everything turned pale.

The monkey grabbed the gun, and the first thing it did was point the barrel at him and pull the trigger,

But there was no gunshot.

It had been deceived.

They had failed.

...

Jerry understood.

He re-entered the room holding the experimental monkeys with a rifle, this time, the magazine was loaded with bullets.

Following Jerry was someone else, it was Qin Ming.

The hopeful monkeys instantly realized they wouldn't survive the day.

Death was so frightening; the terrified little monkeys bit and gnawed at their cages, cursing loudly, struggling frantically.

Some monkeys betrayed each other, some wept and begged for mercy, some laughed miserably, while others were completely calm, as if they had seen through the life of a monkey.

At the brink of death, their true nature emerged in all its complexity.

They were like lambs to the slaughter, waiting to embrace death.

The sounds of gunshots were deafening, and the room turned into a bloody abattoir.

In the end, only one old monkey was left, weeping profusely in its cage.

"Why, why do you have to kill them?"

It looked toward Qin Ming, even using an honorific, pleading pitifully, "Not all of us wanted to oppose humans."

"We just wanted to survive, is there anything wrong with that?"

Qin Ming remained unmoved by the old monkey's words, merely glancing at it.

"What does your destruction have to do with you?"

Bang!

A gunshot rang out, and the Monkey Tribe was no more.

Walking out of the room, Qin Ming took a deep breath, his expression becoming profound.

He was reminded of the Three-Body World.

Humans were not much better than monkeys in the face of Three-Body civilization.

The universe has no concept of morality; the weak will always be beaten, this is the eternal truth.

Qin Ming felt lucky. Compared to the monkeys in cages, he at least could travel through the Worlds of All Heavens and slowly become powerful.

Until he stood at the pinnacle of all heavens, fearing no one!
