Chapitre 39: Hex.

Zhan's Pov.

Wang held my hand tightly, suggesting he feared I would run away if he let go. We arrived at the dining area, a cozy nook with a warm ambiance. To my surprise, the witch and her granddaughter were there, serving delectable food. The aroma wafting through the air was mouthwatering.

"Sean, I heard my name, and when I turned, I saw Yu Bin sitting. What are you doing here?" he asked in surprise.

It's a long story, I said, sitting beside Wang.

"Well, I'm glad you are here," Yu Bin said. "This is my sister and grandma I told you about." I smiled, relieved to finally meet his family.

We talked for a while, and I could see Wang getting increasingly jealous as Yu Bin and I laughed and joked.

The truth is, I haven't forgiven you yet. I said.

"What do you mean?" Wang asked, "After all that? You mean you haven't forgiven me yet?"

"We had sex, but that doesn't mean I forgive you," I said, smiling.

"Then I will do more of that." He replied, gently pulling me closer, his touch both confident and tender. I could feel his warmth against mine, and a rush of excitement coursed through me.

Without hesitation, he leaned in and pressed his lips against mine, creating a connection that was both electrifying and intoxicating. The kiss was filled with passion and desire.

"Get a room, please," Jackson said, rolling his eyes. As he and Liu walked in, grinning.

As I leaned in for a kiss, I replied, "You're just envious because you can't have all of this."

"No, never," he laughed as he picked up a plate and dished out food. "I'm happy for you two. You deserve all the happiness this world can offer."

"I didn't think you guys ate food. I thought you drank blood and ate raw meat," I laughed.

"We have strange habits," Jackson replied jokingly. "But we also like to enjoy a delicious, home-cooked meal. It's all part of being a balanced werewolf."

"Here, Liu said, giving me my bag.

I grabbed my backpack from Liu and rummaged through it, desperately searching for my mother's necklace. After a few moments of frantic searching, I finally found the necklace and a piece of paper with Cheng's number scribbled on it. Relieved, I put the necklace and paper back in my bag.

"Thank you." I smiled at Liu and Jackson.

Why don't you wear your mom's necklace? Wang asked.

I chuckled "Oh, I had a terrible experience with it." Recalling the incident, I laughed awkwardly. "My uncle almost strangled me with it," I replied.

"Can I kill him for doing that to you?" Wang asked sternly.

"No, don't do that," I said quickly. "It's in the past now, and I'm happy.

"Let me put it on for you," Wang said softly. "You're safe with me now."

I took the necklace out of my bag and handed it to Wang. His expression changed, and he looked like he had seen a ghost. He carefully took the necklace and held it in his hands, examining it closely.

"Are you okay?" I asked, noting Wang's strange behavior. He looked up at me. "It's just a necklace," I said, reassuring him. He nodded slowly, carefully placing the necklace around my neck.

"It looks beautiful on you," he said.

I blushed and touched the necklace. But then Wang and his brother shared a look that worried me. What was that all about?

Wu is not in the basement, Meng said hurriedly as she dashed out of the room.

Liu, confused, asked, "What do you mean?"

I attempted to give him blood, and he wasn't in the basement," she explained.

"Oh, I gave him a surprise gift and let him go," her grandma said, grinning. "I don't want to be on her bad side. She is a badass."

"What did you do?!!" Grandma Meng screamed, getting angry.

"It's nothing to worry about," her grandmother reassured her. "He won't hurt any one of you anymore."

"Yu Bin, are you a wizard too, since your sister and grandmother are witches?" I asked in surprise.

"No, I'm not," Yu Bin replied, laughing. "But my ability to sense supernatural creatures is quite strong. I knew you were something, but I didn't know what. That was why I wanted you to meet my grandma."

"Oh, I see," I said, unconsciously touching my necklace.

"Don't worry about who you are; it will be clear to you soon," his grandmother said.

I smiled as Wang squeezed my hand reassuringly.

I felt happy as the day went on and we all blended together laughing and talking, so I decided to grill some mouthwatering barbecue and make cocktails while Meng's grandma and I drank fresh mango juice. But I just wanted to impress Wang. Call me childish; I don't care.

Meng gave us a knowing smile and said, "Let's go to bed. We have an early start tomorrow." We all said goodnight and left together. I looked back, feeling content and grateful for the time we spent together.

The sun rose, casting a soft glow through the curtains. As the gentle light filtered into the room, I slowly stirred from my slumber. My eyes fluttered open.

Just as the thought of getting out of bed crossed my mind, Wang shook me gently, urging me to rise. I groggily pleaded for just five more minutes of precious sleep. "Please," I mumbled, still half-dreaming.

"You can sleep in the car." He whispered. His words were like a soothing lullaby.

After we both freshened up, Wang scooped me up into his arms, effortlessly carrying me towards the waiting car. His strength and tenderness intertwined. Wang gently placed me in the back seat, ensuring my comfort.

"You can sleep now." He kissed my forehead.

The engine hummed to life, and I closed my eyes, knowing that the gentle motion of the car would lull me back into a peaceful slumber.

When I woke up, we were in Uscana. We were on our way to where Wang and his brother were staying. Liu, our designated driver, sat behind the steering wheel, his focused gaze fixed on the road ahead. Jackson sat beside him, scanning the passing scenery.

Wang and I sat in the back seat, settling comfortably into the plush cushions. The engine's soft hum provided a soothing backdrop.

Meanwhile, Meng drove in a separate car alongside Yu Bin.

Liu drove into the compound. Before we could even step out of the vehicle, he turned to Wang and instructed him to leave Jia in his care, ensuring he would handle her. We followed Liu into the house, only to be greeted by an eerie silence that hung in the air. As we cautiously ascend the stairs.

Meng's hushed voice broke the stillness. "Something is definitely wrong here."

With each step, a sense of dread crept over me, and as we reached the top of the staircase, my utter fear was confirmed. The sight that awaited us was horrifying. A ghastly scene unfolded before our eyes: a pile of lifeless bodies, each with their heart or head brutally torn from their bodies. Jia lay motionless beside Wu, her heart ripped out of her chest.

I felt nauseous and started throwing up, desperately trying to rid myself of the sight before me.

As I heaved, I heard Meng's voice trembling. "It's a massacre... a massacre!"

I quickly turned, only to see Wang's pale face. I knew then that our situation was far more serious than I had expected.

Meng immediately pulled out her phone and dialed her grandma's number. She put the phone on speaker, allowing everyone around her to hear the conversation. As soon as her grandma answered, Meng could sense the distress in her voice.

"Grandma, did you hex Wu?" Meng asked, her concern evident in her tone. Her grandma coughed.

"Yes," came a voice from the other end of the line, making everyone pale. The room fell silent as the situation sank in.

"Wen?" Liu's voice broke the silence. The name hung in the air, carrying a sense of impending danger.

"Yes, Liu and I am coming for you all," his voice thundered. Meng's grandma screamed before the line abruptly turned silent.
