Valda walked into the room where she found Eryx waiting, and she became cautious of her steps. Since that day she saw him in that horrible state, entering his room always made her mindfully aware that she could expect anything—but it was fine, she could learn to work with that, as long as she doesn't die.
Venturing deeper, she approached the chaise lounge where he sat. He was going through a book, but had paused in his reading the minute he noticed her presence in his chamber. His lips curled subtly, but Valda couldn't decipher if that was a smile or not.
"Sit." He commanded.
And she sat.
Another wave of silence hung heavily in the air, but Eryx hadn't averted his gaze from the book he was reading. Two more minutes ticked by, and Valda began to question whether she had been summoned for a purpose beyond mere company. Sayge mentioned that it was urgent, but Eryx's absorption in the book he was reading left her uncertain.
