The morning sun filtering through the window seemed to cast a warm, golden light over the dining table, where Emily had carefully arranged a spread of breakfast foods, her voice calling out in a gentle reminder.

"Andrea, come and eat." She said, her tone soft and inviting, her eyes turning to watch as her daughter entered the dining room, a small tablet clutched in her hands, a cartoon playing across the screen.

"Give me the tablet." Emily said, her voice still gentle, but with a hint of authority that seemed to suggest her own rules.

And as Andrea, her eyes still fixed upon the cartoon, surrendered the tablet into her mother's waiting hands, Emily placed it aside, her attention turning back to her daughter with a motherly smile.

"You can continue watching the cartoon after you are done eating." Emily said, her voice a quiet assurance that seemed to ease the little girl's disappointment.
