"Your bond with King Nikolai won't function within this castle. Devon cast a powerful spell disallowing private communication through bonds," Tarah explained methodically. "Most spells won't work here except those created with the essence of divinity."

She pointed to what appeared to be a dead end. "Do you see that wall? It's a secret passage to where Devon detained King Nikolai and King Ezekiel. Remember, casting divine spells is your only way in. You must not get caught. Utilize all the gifts His Majesty gave you," Tarah reminded her. "Devon's power won't affect them."
