Chapitre 122: 122. Unit Of Measurement

"Old sir, we meet again."

As soon as Aurelius entered the door, he saw a group of strong men surrounding a formidable man.

"Last time, you refused to tell the truth, old gentleman. I wonder if I can get the answer today?" Aurelius smiled and looked at Sochuro.

Previously, Sochuro hadn't taken Aurelius seriously—he had no liking for him.

Sochuro was proud of his knowledge and might hold Grindelwald in high regard, but treating a young child as an equal proved difficult.

That's why Sochuro had been armed when they last met.

But this time was different.

Aurelius had proven himself.

A genuine fight.

Four against thirty.

Over 90% of them were elite Aurors. After facing four young men, they left behind more than a dozen corpses and an equal number of wounded.

This was enough to make Sochuro view him in a new light.

The system of Magical abilities in this world is peculiar.

The gap between top combat effectiveness and ordinary combat effectiveness isn't significant.

In other words, individuals with magical powers in this world excel in offense but lack in defense. This makes it attainable to fight against a horde of opponents, overpowering them.

Hence, in this world, ordinary people have a say, and the Ministry of Magic exists within the magical world.

When quantity can compensate for quality's shortcomings, the mastery's dominance and control inevitably diminish.

Even wizards like Dumbledore and Grindelwald might defeat 1,200 Aurors together, but they would struggle to triumph against 3,500.

Just as Aurelius had demonstrated in his own home, when hundreds of death curses formed an impenetrable network of firepower, even Dumbledore and Grindelwald were entangled, unleashing only their ire.

Before the Horcrux was revealed, the seemingly invincible Voldemort was far more fearsome than his resurrected self.

It is precisely due to this world's unique circumstance, with its emphasis on offense and weak defense, that fighting against a larger force becomes challenging.

Considering British Aurors as a combat unit, defeating two would be considered a demonstration of power, while defeating three would be proof of an exceptional mage.

Although the difference is only one Auror, a combat team comprising three Aurors versus two Aurors constitutes vastly different combat capabilities. Newt and Tina are both skilled fighters, but they have different approaches. Newt utilizes the power of magical creatures that he carries with him, an unfamiliar fighting style for most wizards. Many people have suffered losses at his hands as a result.

Tina, on the other hand, relies on her abilities and hard work. She is a talented combatant and had the privilege of serving as the confidant of Graves, the former chief of the Aurors of America. Her strength surpasses that of her colleagues. Additionally, as an Auror from MACUSA, she is stronger than the British Aurors due to the constant state of preparation for war in her homeland.

In comparison, the British Aurors have not experienced war in a long time, resulting in lower combat effectiveness.

Although Tina's combat abilities can be compared to Kingsley's and are slightly higher than other elite Aurors, they are not quite on par with Nagini. Nagini not only possesses exceptional magical skills but also enhances her combat prowess through her transformation into a unique beast.

While not as formidable as Aurors, Tina still surpasses ordinary Ministry of Magic staff in terms of combat effectiveness.

Among the four individuals, Aurelius is the main powerhouse. His strength is multifaceted, as he has mastered the "Code of Blades" combat skills, wizard magic, and Obscurus Summoner abilities, and has powerful companions such as a phoenix and the Zuowu.

In a battle where Aurelius has enough time to prepare, he can employ his death curse to immobilize and defeat his opponents effortlessly.

However, Aurelius's combat abilities are more suitable for group fights rather than individual combat. In one-on-one battles, he cannot defeat both Grindelwald and Dumbledore. However, in a group fight, the difference between a few Aurors and a few hundred Aurors is not as significant.

This is due to the nature of the Obscurus, which allows Aurelius to become an incredibly powerful weapon on the battlefield.

Unfortunately, Sochuro is unaware of these details. From his perspective, he could only see that the four young men, including Aurelius, were able to defeat more than thirty elite Aurors head-on.

Sochuro, being almost seventy years old, acknowledges that the young men's fighting abilities are not far from his own. However, he recognizes the age gap between them, with the oldest of the four being only thirty.

He reminds himself not to underestimate the capabilities of the younger generation.

Impressed by Aurelius's display of combat prowess, Sochuro highly regards him.

"I must admit that Mr. Grindelwald's vision is extraordinary. Four individuals were against thirty Aurors, and they managed to repel the attack and leave calmly. I am truly amazed. Whether others recognize this or not, I do. Please, Mr. Dumbledore."Sochuro stood up solemnly to apologize and personally pulled out a chair for Aurelius, which made Aurelius look at him suspiciously.

"This old man is arrogant, but at least he admits his mistakes!" Aurelius thought, understanding why Grindelwald allied with him. Their arrogance and frankness were the same.

Aurelius was the kind of person who preferred to accept soft things rather than hard ones. He believed that people would respect him as much as he respected others.

In response to Sochuro's apology, Aurelius smiled and extended his hand, saying, "Sir, you are generous, which makes me appear aggressive. Please, let's put this behind us."

"Mr. Sochuro, I assume you didn't gather all these people here solely to boost your allies' reputation, did you?" Aurelius questioned before Grindelwald's arrival, engaging in a friendly chat with Sochuro.

This time, the conversation was much more harmonious, and the old man's attitude had improved.

"It's just a hunch," Sochuro noted. "This gathering is unprecedented, with tens of thousands of wizards. It would be impossible to hide such an event from the Ministry of Magic."

"So, sir, you have the same suspicions as I do," Aurelius smiled, observing Nagini beside him and the large group of people behind Sochuro. "The only difference is our approach."

"I prefer solitude, but when Mr. Grindelwald extends an invitation, I dare not refuse," Sochuro explained, stroking his beard.

"Don't you dare refuse?" Aurelius chuckled. "I don't recall hearing you utter those words."

As Aurelius and Sochuro were engrossed in their conversation, a voice interrupted them.

"Well, well, it seems the two of you are getting along quite nicely," a newcomer announced.

"The real master has arrived!"
