Chapter L: Darkest.
Last Time.
"What's in the case?" Red asked having Speedy smile and hold it up.
"Satisfaction."
"Roll credits." Naruto said getting the trio to look at him. "What?"
Speedy opened the case showing a black/silver mechanical arm.
Naruto stared at the arm, before glancing up to Speedy who took off his mask.
"Speedy died eight years ago. Call me... Arsenal."
"Wow, bad names really are genetic." Naruto said before they took their leave.
Now.
Mount Justice March 22, 07:15 EST.
Kage with his hood down looked at Grifter who was staring at his pistol.
"Rubber bullets? Really?" He asked making Naruto nod.
"Yep." Grifter sighed as Blue Beetle flew in from the bathroom.
Bang!
Blue Beetle dropped down as Naruto saw a rubber bullet fly up in the air.
"What the hell, pendejo (stupid)!?" Beetle asked getting Grifter to shrug as he holstered his guns.
"What? I was testing them."
Naruto sighed at that as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
"What's this?"
Naruto looked up to see Grifter looking at the photo from when Scarecrow attacked. "It was the biggest mission we took. At the time, anyway."
(Flashback)
Gotham City; G.C.P.D. October 31, 22:35 EST.
Kage and Batman walked inside and up to Aaron.
"Some of your men have picked up an encrypted message." Batman said getting Aaron to look up at him.
"How did you... Never mind, stupid question." He said before pointing to the room beside the cell. McAllister's back there in the Comms room. It's got us all scratching our heads."
They walked inside where a policeman was sitting at computer.
"Tell us about this broadcast." Batman said looking down as Naruto looked at the screen showing sound waves.
"Wish I could, sir, but it's on a S.W.A.T. channel. Encrypted. Those boys don't like anyone listening in."
Batman leaned down and typed on the keyboard before typing on his gauntlet. "We're in."
"Hernally? You reading me? It's Jim. I need you to send through some blueprints. I found Crane."
Jim Gordon's voice came up over the frequency.
"Shit! He must have went after him, trying to end this."
"I got the I.D. number." Batman said turning around and walked out of the room.
Gotham City; Founders' Island October 31, 22:45 EST.
Naruto and Batman drove through a dirt tunnel being chased by the Knight in a large tunnel digger that was smoking before making a jump over a ditch. The digger hit it, unearthing dynamite and had it explode.
BOOM!
The digger stopped as dirt covered it before the heroes drove to a large door that opened. Going to the end of the tunnel, they pulled open a hatch from a door on the top and broke it open. Only for the Knight to drive to them. The heroes shot out of the cars just as the Knight hit them, destroying them as she did so.
"And I just had it detailed, too."
Naruto said before seeing events leading up. Going in them, they came up underneath where Gordon was. And saw he was tied to a chair surrounded by a group of the Knight's men. Both of them, quickly shot up and took out each man before walking to the tied up Commissioner.
"Turn around."
They both turned to see the Knight, scratches on her suit as well. "Just who the hell are you? Someone we beat? Someone who hates one, if not both of us?"
"Nope. Just someone who needed to set you on the right path." she said as Naruto looked confused before she dropped a smoke bomb and disappeared. Naruto stared at the spot before creating a clone that took Gordon back to the G.C.P.D. as the duo went to the freight elevator.
Suddenly, a group of men walked out of it with one muscular man. Naruto quickly took out two men as Batman did the same before both attacked the tall muscular man and knocked him out. They went in the elevator and went up to the top. Naruto took his bow out, unfolded it by throwing it out as he held the handle.
He picked up an arrow and placed it in before drawing it back as they made it to the top. They walked out and saw Scarecrow looking out to the city at the edge of the platform.
"On your knees, Crane. Now." Batman said as Naruto's laser sight moved to Scarecrow's head.
"So you did it. I must admit. I never thought you'd be able to do it." Scarecrow said as Naruto narrowed his eyes.
"Where is my daughter?" Scarecrow looked back to them. He raised his hand as men ran out, surrounding them as Troia, tied up with her lasso, gagged and seemed mildly sedated, was pushed to the edge.
"You drop her and I'll make hell seem like Disneyland for all of you." Naruto said, and watched as Crane pushed his daughter off as the men shot at the duo. Naruto yelled as he dropped arrows that exploded before diving after his daughter and Batman jumped down as well.
Once landing, tanks came up to them as they hid behind a wall. "Call Lucius! Tell him we need the other cars!" Batman did that, and a moment later, the Bat-Jet and Bio-Ship dropped a silver Batmobile and desert camouflage Tumbler.
They remotely controlled their cars to take out the tanks after learning that their weapons have been fully upgraded and took out the tanks.
Gotham City; G.C.P.D. October 31, 23:01.
The heroes walked inside and saw that Miss Martian, Frost, Cheshire, Batgirl, Lagoon Boy, and Artemis were inside as well as they walked in to plan their next move.

Naruto turned around as Grifter looked to the picture one more time.
Gulf Of Mexico March 23, 16:03 EDT.
Lagoon Boy was in a cell, glaring at Kaldur. "How can you stand to look in the mirror? Atlantis, King Orin, the Team. You betrayed us all. Neptune's beard! I can't believe I once idolized you!" He finished as Black Manta walked in.
"Why is this prisoner still aboard? He should be delivered to our partner. Put him in a pod."
"I will handle it personally, father."
"Negative. I have other duties for you, my son."
"You're not his son! You're his errand boy!" Lagoon Boy said as Kaldur looked back to him.
"I am well aware of my role in the larger picture, La'Gaan, are you?" Kaldur asked before taking out a tranquilizer and put Lagoon Boy to sleep before several men put him in a pod and took him out of the room.
"Kaldur'Ahm. You should know my faith in you is absolute. But others require... More proof of your loyalty." Manta said putting a hand on his son's shoulder.
"You have my word, father. I'll do whatever it takes to enter the Light."
Later, Kaldur's sub, flew out of the water with the Terror Twins, Icicle Jr. and a new woman.
She's wearing a black bodysuit similar to the Bat family but with a helmet with the bat ears and black visor and cape. She has a yellow outline of a bat on her chest, as well as above the visor. And yellow collapses on her thighs and waist. And a dark yellow utility belt. (1.)
"Brother Tommy, I think we're plumb crazy to throw in with this fellow." Tuppence said to her brother.
(A/N: Reminder I won't be writing the accent. the 'Ah' instead of I. As spell check will correct it. So please imagine the accent.)
"It wasn't two years ago that Aqualad here was trying to lock us back in Belle Reve."
"Well, Sister Tuppence. Folks say he had a change of heart after learning who his pappy is." Tommy said as Icicle walked to Tuppence.
"I heard he switched sides because of some girl. Which I totally get. You know..." He said putting a hand on her shoulder. "If it's the right girl."
"(Sigh) Step back, Junior. You're giving me the chills." She said taking his hand off her shoulder.
"But in a good way, right babe?"
"Me? I'm more concerned about this Black Bat." Tommy said looking at Black Bat who glanced back to him. "How come the Terror Twins ain't never heard of her before?"
"You know we can hear you." Black Bat said, her visor opening, showing Stephanie's disguised face as he smirked.
"That I do. These are open questions, you see."
"So. Which one of you want's to ask your... 'Open Questions' to Black Manta?" Black Bat asked the others. "Which one of you wants to suggest to the big bad that his son, and his son's handpicked right hand can't be trusted?" That shut them up, making Tommy go back to his monitor.
"That's what I thought." Black Bat finished going back to her work, her visor going back down.
"Don't look so defeated... I'm here for you." Icicle said putting his hands on Tuppence shoulder. Only for her to roughly grab them, and push him away.
"Go away. I'm saving myself for somebody."
El Paso March 23, 18:18 MDT.
Ding Dong!
Jaime walked to his door and opened it showing Impulse.
"Dude! What are you doing here?" He asked looking around to make sure no one was around.
"Here to hang, chill, spend a little downtime with my man, Blue B! The Beetle!"
Jaimie closed the door as he walked out. "And put my secret I.D. at risk!?"
"I never understood the whole, 'hide who you are', deal." Impulse said before hearing Naruto on his ear piece.
"It's so our friends and family who aren't heroes won't be targeted all the time! Man, didn't my future self say anything to you about this before coming back here!?"
Jamie went into his armour and flew off as Impulse followed.
Later, the duo target practiced in the desert with Beetle's gun.
"That the best you can do?" Impulse asked Beetle who scoffed.
"No." Beetle shot another one having Impulse yawn.
"Not bad. Boulder's eventually feeling the mode. But, one thing I learned in the future... It's easier to destroy..." He dashed around, moving the debris. He then stopped by Blue Beetle and smiled. "Than to create. Ta-Dah!" He finished striking a pose.
"The Impulse has created nothing! And his premise is faulty! Tactile destruction is more effective than creation." Beetle heard the Scarab in his head before speaking.
"Ta-dah, what exactly?"
"Curb the attitude, a little more, altitude, Hermano (Brother)."
Blue Beetle flew up, and saw Impulse moved the debris into a drawing of him, in his pose.
"'Impulse' by Impulse! Is it crash, or what?"
Blue Beetle was suddenly tackled by Tuppence Terror into the drawing.
"Oh, man. I spent 1.6 seconds on that self-portrait. It was my masterpiece!" Impulse ducked under a kick by Black Bat Before dashing to Tommy, to tackle him. Only to get thrown back as he hit Tommy. Black Bat took out a net gun and shot it at Impulse, trapping him.
"Hold him still!" Icicle said before shooting Blue Beetle and encasing him in ice.
"Blue!" Impulse vibrated to get out of his net before dodging a bolas and saw Beetle get out of his ice.
Beetle shot his gun at the group before firing his staple gun and hit Black Bat's left arm, pinning her to the ground.
"The advantage is ours! Recommended tactic: evisceration."
"Or since they outnumber us 4 to 2. How about a tactical retreat!?"
Impulse nodded at that. "Totally. But first, how did they..." He trailed off seeing Kaldur standing on top of a hill beside them. "There!" He dashed over to Kaldur and smiled. "So you're Aqualad? Working for the bad guys I see. Using their tech to take out my friend Blue? Not crash dude, not crash at all."
He grabbed the device Aqualad was holding and smiled. "Zoink! Moded!" He dashed off having Blue Beetle fly after.
"Well that's brilliant, Chief! You let them get away! With the tracking device. Now how do we find them?" Tommy asked Kaldur who walked to them.
"As it happens..."
Mount Justice March 23, 21:05 EDT.
"Recognized: Blue Beetle, B23. Impulse, B24."
The duo walked in as Impulse smiled. "Left them in the dust!"
"Left who in the dust?"
They looked to see Nightwing walk to them. "And what is that?"
"Souvenir." Impulse said holding the device up.
"That's more Beast Boy's thing, Ese (Dude)." Beetle said getting Impulse to look at him.
"Really? I thought it was Kid Flash's-!"
"Can we get to it." Nightwing interrupted them.
"Sorry. We got attacked by Aqualad, with the Terror Twins, Icicle Jr. and some ninja girl I didn't recognize. But she had your mentor's fashion sense." Beetle explained having Nightwing nod.
"This is how they tracked Blue." Impulse said holding the device up.
"And you brought foreign, possibly alien tech inside the Cave? Rookie mistake!" Nightwing yelled before holding out his hand. "Give it here."
Unknown Location.
Lagoon Boy groaned as he woke up to see a female alien stare at him.
She is a humanoid female adult alien with blue skin. The sclera of her eyes are yellow, while her irises are a darker yellow. She is tall and slender, but appears to have somewhat broad shoulders.
She's wearing a pointed shoulders, crimson sleeveless tunic. Starting from the back of her head and around her temples, she has a white ḥijāb-style cloth that coalesces with the tunic around the sternum. This is completed with a translucent yellow niqāb-like piece that covers her mouth.
The tunic is fastened with a belt that has a satchel hanging down over her upper right thigh. She also has white gloves with furled cuffs.
She left having Lagoon Boy look to his left and saw five more people beside him.
Shimmer is the first one beside him and Tye Longshadow is the next.
The next person is a teenage Japanese girl with black hair, which she has in an upward ponytail. She's wearing a black shirt, a yellow vest with green lower half, jean shorts and black leggings underneath, complete with a green headband. She also wears gray sneakers.
The next person is a teenage Argentine boy with olive skin, and messy black hair wears a gray shirt with a stylized sun on it, baggy grayish-green pants with multiple zippers and pouches, a maroon vest, a yellow scarf and orange-red strap-on boots with white laces.
The last person is an African-American teenager with short black dreads. He's wearing blue pants, a lighter blue T-shirt and fitted baseball cap in a backwards fashion, sneakers, and a black jacket with yellow accents on the arms and cuffs.
Mount Justice March 23, 22:11 EDT.
The trio looked at the analysis of the device before Nightwing cursed.
"I should've known!" He turned around and was it by a flying Superboy who was wearing an inhibitor collar by Tommy. Icicle froze the floor, only for Impulse to run up the wall, and hit Icicle before running down to Tuppence.
Impulse hit her, only for nothing to happen and he flew back from the force. Tommy grabbed Impulse who punched him with super speed. "Ow. My hands." Impulse said as his hands shook from his attack. Tommy put a collar on him and punched him away. Blue Beetle shot Tommy with his sonic gun as he flew up.
Nightwing got up, and was kicked by Black Bat having him stumble. she followed up with a sweep kick, forcing Nightwing on his back before she sat on his stomach. She quickly put a collar on him having Nightwing smirk.
"Sorry, no powers for you to disrupt." Nightwing said before bringing his legs up to wrap around the back of Black Bat's neck and slammed her down. She picked a remote out and shocked him before standing up.
"Stand down!"
Kaldur yelled showing he's holding another bomb with a switch.
"Recognized: Kage, 17."
Naruto walked in and saw Kaldur before taking his bow out, and drew an arrow. "What do we owe this pleasure, Kaldur?"
Naruto noticed the bomb and didn't move.
"You know what this is, right? Well, let us go, or I'll let go of this deadman switch." Kaldur said as Naruto sighed, but still kept his weapon drawn.
"Fine."
He noticed the others taking Impulse with them as Blue Beetle had a collar on a well. "We're taking them as well."
Naruto glared at Kaldur before moving to Nightwing who stood up. "I will find you, then." Kaldur walked to them, and punched Nightwing in the stomach. Naruto noticed a flash drive stick in Nightwing's hand before the villains left. Naruto noticed Tuppence wink at him and blew him a kiss.
'I swear I must have a scent that attracts the dangero...' Naruto's trail of thought stopped as he saw Black Bat just as they left, causing him to let go of his string. 'What the fu-What's that brooding bat got that I don't!?" He thought with a tick mark as his proteges choice of attire.
'Dinah's protege now.' He thought before creating several clones that grabbed the two heroes, Sphere, and Wolf and Hiraishin (Flying Thunder God) out of the cave.
BOOM!
The entire mountain exploded as Naruto appeared in the city and saw Mal on his bike stop by them. "Kaldur got in. He took Impulse and Beetle, had a deadman switched bomb inside. I guess one of them got free to attack and caused Kaldur to let go." Naruto explained looking at the fire on the mountain.
Washington D.C. March 24 03:12 EDT.
Kage and Nightwing sat at the table in the Hall Of Justice as Wally stormed in.
"What were you thinking!?"
"What the hell are you talking about?" Naruto asked annoyed.
"What happened?"
"(Sigh) Vandal wasn't convinced that Kaldur switched sides. Had him go take another test. Kaldur gave us a flash drive to get back the ones the Light have kidnapped." Naruto said as Wally glared.
"He took two more-!"
"I KNOW!"
Naruto yelled at Wally. "I'm sorry I got your girlfriend involved in this, Wally! But don't think for one second I don't know the consequences! OK, You're not the only one worried about her, you're not only one that lost someone. I almost lost my entire damn world in one day, ONE DAY! So don't you dare act like you're the only one who's suffered!"
"What if Kaldur's a triple agent!?" Wally moved to shove Naruto, only to get shove himself, forcing him into a chair that flipped over.
"Kaldur is on our side. Plus, I gave Steph one of my kunai if she's in trouble. You want a say in how this Team runs its missions. Then put on your suit and come out of retirement and stop yelling at me from the sidelines!" Naruto finished before walking away.
Atlantic Ocean March 24, 03:17 EDT.
Kaldur walked to his father's side in his sub as the captives in pods were rolled away.
"Come with me." Manta said taking Kaldur to a room where screens lit up, showing the Light on each screen.
"Greetings. Allow me to officially introduce Kaldur'ahm. My son. He has succeeded in every mission, and then some. Not only did he capture Blue Beetle as instructed. But he brought a bonus Meta as well as the destruction of Mount Justice." (2.)
"Indeed. We appreciate initiative vision. And strong family ties. Welcome to the Light, Kaldur. It is time for you to meet our partner." Ra's said as Kaldur stared at the screen.
