Chapitre 84: Deadly Situation

Jack groaned, blinking awake as he struggled to get his bearings. The sharp pain in his wrists and ankles told him he was tied up. His first instinct was to move, but the bindings were tight, digging into his skin. A quick glance to his side revealed DL, also bound, her eyes cold but alert. The two of them were in the backseat of a moving car, surrounded by four men, two in front and two beside them, their expressions calm, almost bored.

Jack's thoughts raced, trying to piece together what had happened. He vaguely remembered falling asleep in their hotel room, then nothing until he woke up here. He made eye contact with DL, both of them communicating without words. They were in trouble, but there was no need to panic. Not yet.

The driver glanced back at them through the rearview mirror, smirking. "You two are handling this well. Most people would be screaming by now."

The man beside Jack chuckled. "Yeah, most people panic. Not these two. Tough ones."
