Chapitre 170: Lightning Contructs

The first pair stepped forward. 

A boy with spiky black and purple tipped hair and a lightning-infused spear introduced himself as Jian and a girl with short brown hair wielding twin lightning-charged Sai named Mei. 

They had never worked together before but exchanged a quick glance before charging at their construct. 

Jian's spear thrusts were precise but lacked a bit of power, barely denting the metal plates of the construct's armor, while Mei's sai strikes were swift but a bit uncoordinated like she wasn't quite as completely ambidextrous as she needed to be. 

Despite their best efforts, the construct's counterattacks forced them on the defensive.

"Come on, we need to synchronize our attacks!" Jian shouted, deflecting a bolt of lightning shot towards him from the construct with his spear.

"Got it! You create an opening and I'll dash in!" Mei replied, her movements becoming more relaxed as she adjusted to Jian's rhythm.
