Chapitre 14: Stupid
"I'll accept the deal."
I blocked him in the parking lot before he could get into his car.
"But you-"
"Under one condition."
He straightened up and faced me with his hand in his pants pocket. Waiting for me to continue.
"I need money."
"Name the price."
"10 million."
He frowned and spoke. "Why do you need that much money?"
"What? Can you give it or not? I will risk my life for what I am about to do. I will fight against Nadia, her family, and your family. Maybe it's enough for me to ask for that much money."
I saw him nod and beckoned me to get into his car, so I got in too.
"Where are we going?"
He didn't speak, but we went to the place where he was training me in self-defense and whatever, so I nodded to myself. After I got out of the car, I immediately followed him inside.
"Starting today, this will be our daily routine. You can't die without my permission, you got it?"
Tsk! What a control freak.
Every time I see him, my heart races and I can't help but smile. But the consequences are always the same - I get hit, hurt, and scolded for my lack of concentration. What is it about him that makes me lose control? And what will I do knowing that it will only lead to more distractions and trouble? Will I be able to resist his charm and finally focus?
I asked him if I could go home because I could not focus and, thankfully, he agreed and took me home.
When we got to the house, I wondered why Antonio was waiting there while sitting on his big bike and was dumbfounded.
I immediately went down to meet him, but I felt Canim's hand on my arm.
After a while, Antonio turned in our direction and smiled a big smile, but it also disappeared immediately when he saw Canim holding my arm.
He approached us with a frown.
"What are you doing here?"
"Shouldn't I be the one to ask you that?" Canim suddenly grabbed my waist, so my eyes widened in shock.
What went into this one's head?
Antonio didn't answer and just looked into my eyes. I couldn't figure out what he was feeling or what he was doing because I could only see blankness in his eyes.
"I need you, Kaesu."
"Bro, know your limits."
I was taken aback when Canim pushed him, even though Antonio didn't move from his position, he still didn't do the right thing.
A strong blow landed on Canim's cheek. The speed of events, I just saw them exchange blows, and they couldn't get away no matter how much I shouted. After a while, my chest suddenly tightened, causing me to have trouble breathing. My vision blurred, and I felt like I was slowly falling.
As I slowly opened my eyes, I was met with the concerned faces of Lara and Alex looming over me. Why were they always hovering so close? I tried to shift my gaze around the room and spotted the two men, Canim and Antonio, lurking in opposite corners like shadows.
Letting out a resigned sigh, memories of earlier events flooded back into me.
"What happened?"
"What did you two do?"
Alex and Lara, in their relentless quest for answers, turned to Canim and Antonio for an explanation. But of course, those two remained as uncooperative as ever, opting for a wall of silence instead.
Frustrated by their lack of response, they turned to me, hoping I would shed some light on the situation. But did they expect me to have all the answers? Irritated by the whole situation, I disregarded their questions and pushed myself up, determined to confront Canim and Antonio myself.
Dragging my feet, I made my way over to the two men, ready to demand some much-needed explanations from their dumbfounded faces.
"Antonio, come with me." I grabbed Antonio's arm, giving him a death glare when he tried to resist.
As we passed through Canim he tried to stop us, but I just gave him a cold stare and that made him stop.
Honestly, I don't know where Antonio and I are going. All I know is that I need to talk to him somewhere that has enough privacy for both of us.
"Where are you taking me, huh? Aren't you tired?"
He really has the strength to complain, huh? My hip hurts even after walking, but he has the urge to complain. I was walking fast without realizing that I had tripped on the way.
I now taste the ground in front of me, my whole face falls to the ground. I just closed my eyes to the idea that, in these circumstances, I would rather ask the earth to eat me than to be eaten by shame.
"Aren't you going to stand there?"
I ignored his question and just covered my face. After a while, I felt two hands holding my body, and then, I felt like I was floating. When I slowly opened my eyes, I realized that Antonio was lifting me. I sighed again and tried to gather my courage.
"There's a park! I'll just take you there."
He slowly put me down and immediately checked if I had any injuries.
"Good thing you only got a scratch," he said with a frown as he looked at my knee. I couldn't stop smiling while watching his face.
He's handsome when he's worried, isn't he? He is still annoying even if the world is turned upside down.
I looked at his lips. They're pink. Is that possible? How can a man be this attractive? Didn't he undergo a surgery? Is everything natural in his face? Why doesn't it seem boring to look at?
"Why do you have to be stupid while walking?"
