Chapitre 58: Chapter 58: The Raising Tides

"He passed on to the spirit realm?" Shin asked in surprise.

"Yes, He gave his staff to your senior disciple before leaving." Old Lao replied.

Shin had come to this world to invite his friends and masters to his wedding; the daimyo had decided to accelerate it after finding out that there was no cure for his sickness. Shin had tried to find a way to heal him but the only reliable method was to remove all the parasites and their eggs which had a very small chance of success. The other method was to burn them out but the pain would be excruciating and Shin was positive that the daimyo would not be able to endure it.

"I wish I could have said goodbye…" Shin's expression was sad but he knew that there was nothing he could do about it. "I suppose I should greet the new dragon warrior." Shin left the panda village and made his way towards the valley of peace. He was done here anyways, he had requested Old Lao to take the position of Shin's father and Ms. Lao as Shin's mother, naturally the duo had accepted.

Shin now had to invite Lei and his father and the new dragon warrior before leaving and preparing for his wedding which was less than a month away.

Since Daimyo was sure of his death, he wanted to make sure Shin was in a position to protect his family and the country, as such Shin had also been named a Koshaku (marquess) with authority over the army and defensive stations. There were naturally protests from the nobles but the Daimyo that was close to death had lost his inhibitions and had grown more fearless and bolder.

In order to make sure his wayward son didn't destroy the country in his ambition, he wanted to create a counter balance in the form of Shin and an early wedding would cement Shin's position as a noble of the country.

Shin broke free from his troughs as the valley of peace entered his view and he landed on the outskirts of the valley. He didn't fly directly to the valley as it would be disrespectful. He climbed to the Jade palace where he found an odd scene.

In one of the training grounds where the children of the villages often came to learn, he saw the instructor had been changed.

"Pffthahahhahaha!" Shin laughed at the panda instructing the children, "How did you get roped into doing this?" Shin asked while laughing as children stared at him in awe and Lei looked like he wanted to kill Shin.

"What do you want? You know, for a guy that lives in a different world, you sure do treat this one like a garden you visit whenever you want to." Lei grumbled.

"Hey, I just came to invite you to my wedding." Shin spoke up.

"Wedding? Which poor girl did you trick this time?" Lei mocked but his lips were wearing a smile as he was happy his friend's bachelor life was coming to an end.

"Oh, it's a princess." Shin winked at the panda who grumbled about Shin having all the luck. "So where is the new dragon warrior?" Shin asked the panda.

"Who knows? Probably getting drilled by my father or hiding and crying after having been drilled by my father." Lei spoke nonchalantly while walking among the students and correcting their postures with a stick.

Shin nodded and disappeared, making his way to the inner Jade palace where he gave Master Son an invitation before making his way to a very old peach tree, "The peach tree of heavenly wisdom…" Shin spoke while overlooking the valley of peace. "Centuries old and yet some people wish to poison it with salted water." Shin shook his head while sighing.

"I am not!" roared a hidden cloud leopard.

"Oh please, I know it's your evil plot to destroy the valley of peace." Shin smirked at the leopard while sitting next to her on the edge of the cliff. It was the same white leopard that had attacked Shin when he had first come to the jade palace. She was also the senior disciple of Po as the latter had adopted her as a child. Shin and his senior sister had grown closer over the years, often engaging in playful arguments.

The rebuttal Shin expected didn't come, instead what came were sad sniffles of a grieving daughter. The girl had been raised by Po as if she were her own, her lineage as a descendant of one of the most notorious villains often earned her the ridicule and harshness of the people around her, including Master Son.

Master Son thought that Po had made a mistake in choosing her as she could very well take after her predecessor, this was why he had offered the role to Shin who rejected it.

"*Sniff* Why did he make me the dragon warrior? I am not a dragon warrior! I am nothing but a…" she turned her head away.

"A descendant of a villain?" Shin completed her words. Shin often teased her about it but he was also one of the very few people that believed and supported Po's decision and from the perspective of seniority, Shin and her sister were the most senior martial artists in all of China as they were the only living disciples of Po and akin to the rank of grandmaster to every martial master in the land. As such, their positions held prestige very few could match.

Nonetheless, after Po's death and Shin's absence, this young leopard was surrounded by animals that considered her as nothing more than a future villain.

"Hey." Shin called the sad cat, "I came here all happy, don't ruin my mood. I'm getting married and I want you there since there is no way Master is going to leave the spirit realm just to attend my wedding."

The leopard looked at him in surprise, "You're getting married? Which poor girl did you-" Shin held up his hand to stop her.

"Lei already said that, seriously… Is that what you guys think of me?" Shin was offended.

"Yes." the cat replied with a straight face.

"-_-"

......

"You're getting married? But why? Girls are lame~" a blonde haired boy spoke loudly at Shin while stuffing his face with barbeque.

"Well, everyone has to get married sometime, besides, when I have a child you guys would be able to train him as a ninja. YOu have to become goodenough first though." Shin's words caused the two boys to become interested.

"Well, we'll have to graduate first." Sasuke gumbled.

"Yah, you were already a chunin when you were our age, it's not fair!" yelled Naruto.

"Well, things were different back then. You guys should just enjoy school, you have an entire life to be a ninja." Shin advised.

The two were already strong enough to be genins but since the minimum age of graduation was 11, they couldn't graduate even if they wanted to.

After a bit of light chat, Shin disappeared from the village. He didn't just come here to invite the few friends in Konoha but to also "browse" through the Hyuga clan's secret library where he found the location of a hidden cave which had a pond which had a path to the moon.

The trip to the moon was quick since there was only a single resident there. The rest of the time he spent reading the various books and scripts of the Otsutsuki clan, including the processes to make the autonomous puppets.

During his free time, Shin would often travel to the moon, repairing the castle and making improvements, conducting experiments and trying to decipher the book he had received from Master Son.

In that regard, after Po died, Shin inherited the real books instead of copies which solved the mystery of how Po was able to learn from them. Apparently, Po had entrusted them to his successor and instructed her to give them to Shin for safe keeping. It was obvious that Po wanted Shin to become a correcting force in the world in case the forces of evil ever started to rear its vile heads which was a matter of time after Po's death.

As soon as Shin started to read one of the books, he left as if he could understand what was written even if he didn't know the language. It was an odd feeling for him but he wasn't one to slap a gift horse.

Shin could finally read the titles of the books and what they were about.

First one was called, "Free cultivator's cultivation technique." by the author, "Immortal Fire Lotus."

"That doesn't sound like a powerful technique but the snake did give it away for free so I guess that's as much as you could expect. Still anything is better than nothing." Shin complained before looking at the second book.

"The great Palm technique." by the author, "Saint of the heaven."

"The name is meh but the author sounds strong." Shin commented, nodding in approval.

The third was called, "The flowing river" by the author "Immortal Sword saint."

"Another meh name but the author is very OP sounding." Shin nodded in acceptance and decided to start with the third one as its author sounded the most powerful of the bunch.

He immersed himself in the reading when he heard a low growl and a giant black panther trudged towards him before snuggling up to him and putting its head on Shin's lap.

"You spoiled cat." Shin petted her.

This was the new and improved Pineapple 11 Pro Max Ultra. Since Shin couldn't increase the biological limits, he decided to alter the biology instead, turning the small cuddly cat into a big cuddly cat.

After a short while, the wedding arrived and went without any significant happenings. Shin and his wife had taken residence in Shin's mansion in the capital, the two started their new journey under the happy wishes of friends and family and the angry hidden gaze of a certain princess who had been moved back to the capital for security reasons.

The seasons came and passed as the new wife finally learned the real meaning of being married. Shin was hesitant as he had always considered the young princess to be a child but the reality was that the age difference was only about 1 year. It was just that Shin's body had matured due to chi that the difference became more pronounced in his mind.

With Shin tied to the royal family through marriage, the war-happy nobles became more apprehensive but luckily for them, the land of Wind issued a war notice against the land of earth. The two had a rivalry as old as time so Shin was surprised it took that long to start a war.

On the surface, Konoha was neutral but secretly they had been helping Sand with reconnaissance as they were allies. The land of lightning had also taken the opportunity to attack the land of ice and devoured it in one fell swoop. As Kumo was the only village with 2 chakra beasts, the daimyo of the country had grown bolder and decided to expand.

The Akatsuki were still in hiding but the hornet's nest had been stared so Shin was sure that they would rear their ugly heads somewhere.

Just as Shin expected, a few days after the start of the war, Kiri's Jinchuriki was attacked and kidnapped when he was outside the village. The whole village was in a panic as this was a perfectly timed attack and signified the presence of a traitor.

Konoha was also on high alert and Daimyo had commanded Tsunade to return to the village and do her duty to the country or be marked as a missing ninja and face the consequences for abandoning her post during the last war.
