Chapitre 19: 9
In Chapter 9, Mr. João and Berth make the courageous decision to go to the police station to denounce the favela leader, Huguel. They are determined to seek justice and end the tyranny and violence that have plagued their lives.
Upon arriving at the police station, they report the atrocities committed by Huguel and provide all the information necessary to begin an investigation. The police officers take the complaint seriously and begin taking appropriate legal action to deal with the case.
Due to the seriousness of the threats and the need for protection, Mr. João and Berth are taken by ambulance out of the city. They are sent to a hospital in another state, where they will receive medical care and be in a safe environment.
This change represents a new phase in their lives, leaving behind the favela and all the traumatic memories associated with it. They will have the opportunity to start over in a different place, far from Huguel's influence and with the hope of building a better life.
The next chapter will explore Sr. João and Berth's experiences in the new environment, the people they will meet and the challenges they will have to face to rebuild their lives.
