But more unsettling was the fact that the following day was Saturday and no one would come to school. So the possibility of someone coming to get something for their class and finding her there was horrifyingly ruled out.

She could survive a day or two without food but three days without water or sunlight was too frightening to think about.

"Damn it, Rufus," she muttered under her breath, the suspicion solidifying into conviction.

She took deep breaths, forcing herself to stay calm. What she needed now was a plan, something more than just yelling and hoping someone would wander by.
