From time to time, she would steal glances at Jace who ate his snacks while he worked on his laptop.
He didn't really dress up but still looked disarmingly handsome in his burgundy shirt and white pants. His rolled up sleeves displayed his strong upper arms covered with dark sleeping hairs. She was cruelly reminded of the feel of those arms around her waist and the cool evening breeze suddenly felt hot on her face.
Charles, beside her, reached out a hand to touch her forehead as she normally does whenever she suspects he has a fever, snapping her from her daydreaming.
From the corner of his eyes, Jace saw Charles's action and shot her a sharp look.
"Are you not feeling well?"
"No, I..I'm perfectly fine," she hurriedly replied and blushed some more.
Jace's mouth quirked in a faint smile. "You don't need to pretend. We can return home if you're tired,"
"No, as a matter of fact we still have to fly our kite," she said, rising to her feet.
