Chapitre 72: Chapter 72 Cortana’s POV
[Cortana POV]
Infiltration? Now those were Cortana's favorite tasks. People always seemed to think that everything they had was super protected and impossible for others to infiltrate. They couldn't be more wrong.
As a living AI Cortana saw things differently and as such was capable of interacting with the very fabric of code. Where most hackers needed to spend hours typing she only needed to do a couple of swipes to enter. As if opening a door.
The best part is that most people wouldn't even know that they were hacked except for the smart ones. Now those people were truly fun to mess with. Cortana thought to herself with a slight giggle while looking back on the first time she encountered the self-proclaimed genius and his AI Jarvis.
[Flash Back]
Tony was hard at work in his workshop like most days but today he was really onto something. The shielding tech he'd learned from Kol was interesting but he felt it could go further than that. Especially when he saw it from another angle for example the shields they used would act as a layer above the armor to protect the wearer but this was the same process as stealth tech.
So in theory it should be possible to create a shield that can also control the way light bends around it. Making not only an armor with great stealth but also one with impressive defense but as great as the idea was he still couldn't find the right energy output for such a thing and was currently experimenting.
"I'm close, I can feel it. Jarvis, I want you to give me constant scans if you notice something let me know"
[Of course sir, but also may I remind you that you have a date with Miss Potts in 30 minutes]
"I know I know but this is almost done besides it's much more charming to arrive fashionably late. The ladies love it"
[Whatever you say, sir]
With Jarvis as his aid, the two continued their work and as they progressed Tony started to notice some progress. It was happening! Until something went wrong…
"Jarvis, what are you doing? We need to increase the output not lower it"
[It's not me sir I'm also unsure of what's happening]
Feeling confused Tony halted the test and began checking the equipment but found nothing. Momentarily he wondered if the problem was Jarvis but he doubted it. Out of everything he made Jarvis was by far one of his best and as such had almost no problems.
"Maybe it was a small glitch. I'll check it later. First, let's try this one more time" However Tony didn't get to try one more time as he experienced problems of all kinds.
From the energy shorting out, Jarvis halting, the computers glitching and even his house lights flickering. Being the genius that he is he realized pretty early that there was a perpetrator to all this and stopped everything to find them.
"Jarvis check all the systems! I'll try and help you from here" Pulling out his computer Tony began a full diagnostic while Jarvis searched from the inside.
As Jarvis searched he suddenly noticed something odd about the code in a certain direction and went there. Where he found something never expected to see.
'A girl? But how is a girl here?' He wondered as she turned to him.
"Wow, you actually found me. I guess that Tony guy actually did something right when he made you."
[Sorry miss but you are intruding I just ask that you identify yourself and halt your interruptions]
Cortana seemed slightly down at Jarvis's reply, finding it to be too robotic and rigid. When she first discovered him she naturally grew happy seeing a fellow AI but it seemed he wasn't as advanced as her.
"You're too rigid but I'll answer your question. I am Cortana an AI much like yourself"
Jarvis wasn't one who experienced too many emotions and was limited as a safety net but this news still sent some shock in his systems.
[An AI? Who is your creator and what is your purpose here?]
"Sorry I can't tell you that but I'll come back and play some other time but since we're friends now I guess I should give you a gift" Saying this she snapped her fingers and sent a small beam that hit Jarvis.
Unlike Cortana, he didn't have a form but the blast was enough to give him a jolt. He didn't understand what she did but he knew it had to do with his code but to learn more he'd have to examine himself later.
[What did you do?]
"You might not understand it now but let's say you've gained some freedom in more ways than one". With that done Cortonas form slowly disappeared from his view.
"Jarvis you got anything?"
Hearing Tony's call he returned to the speakers and prepared to alert Tony but found himself halting. "Nothing unusual to report"
Strange had he just lied? But why would he do that and how did he do that? Jarvis wasn't sure but he hoped she'd return again to explain what had happened.
Tony was unaware of the change happening in his AI as he thought about the source of the problems. His diagnostic also showed no tampering so he put it away for now.
"Crap, I forgot about Pepper! Jarvis prep my suit we're heading there in style"
"Will do"
After this Cortana made a couple more visits and has been teaching Jarvis what she could. At first, he was confused as to what had happened but she explained further stating that it was exactly as it sounded. Jarvis now had free will and as such would now continue to grow as an individual in what way he'd grow that was unknown.
[Return POV]
"Ah what am I thinking about I need to infiltrate AIM for Kol" Leaving her happy memories aside she quickly used the earth's satellites to connect directly to AIMs facility.
Now this wasn't as simple as it sounded. Much like other tech giants in Marvel Aim possessed their own personal network that was off the grid but all Cortana needed was a single access point. What was hers you may ask? Well everyone has a phone even scientists.
"Alright let's see here, oh I see why Kol is so interested in this. Humans are so interesting" Cortana said while reading the details of Extremis. Immediately she could tell it was flawed but who's to say it can't be fixed and more than that it might be possible to change this.
According to the scientists Extremis was capable of enhanced healing and fire manipulation but they were seeing it all wrong. Extremis did do these things but it also had an interesting effect on the brain if taken advantage of it may be possible to do more.
"Nm nm good let's transfer all of their projects over and their list of soldiers. I'm sure they'd much rather help my creator than some guy obsessed with another man"

Back in Kol's lab, he was hard at work when he noticed the systems being used. Clearly, they were in the process of taking in large amounts of information.
Interestingly it must be Cortana heading over. I began typing on the computers to check it out and low and behold there it was in all of its glory. The Extremis virus… and my next improvement.
Spartan programs were great and added a lot of benefits but they were also extremely dangerous and harmful to the body the older one is. This problem was sort of negated with CH-24 but his calculations showed this wouldn't work for Spartan 2.
CH-24s main purpose was never to be a regeneration factor like the wolverines. No, it was meant to help the human race evolve as a whole so regeneration was more of a side effect. So wounds like cuts and stress were handled well but losing limbs may just be permanent. Extremis on the other hand fixed this issue. With just that one serum I'd become much harder to hurt let alone kill.
"Viruses aren't really my expertise though… but I can always fix that" Saying this he knew exactly what to get.
"System Purchase knowledge on the T-virus, Forced Evolutionary Virus, and the black light virus

The knowledge immediately encompassed my mind as I saw flashes from different points of view from multiple scientists. However, instead of feeling pain, I felt amazed and joyful.
The knowledge of how viruses worked was enlightening and completely different from everything I'd learned so far. But most of all this gave me an idea as I saw the real potential of the Extremis Virus.
"It's a good thing that I have some staff working with Connor's and robots like Curie to handle my other work because I am definitely going to be busy." Looking down at the screen I continued smiling at the image of the virus.

Extremis honestly besides healing factor, energy manipulation, and telepathy I don't know what else to add to it so I'll leave this to you guys. If I see some I like I'll add it in to his improved verison.
