Chapitre 39: Her Daughter's Wish

Carissa and Daisy exchanged surprised glances, their minds reeling with the implications of Angelina's words. Could it be true? Had Angelina truly encountered her father?

Before they could process the revelation, Angelina's cheerful demeanor dissolved any doubts, leaving Carissa and Daisy to contemplate the unexpected turn of events.

"Hey, sweetheart, I think you might be mistaken," Carissa said, gently patting Angelina's head as she crouched down to her level.

"No, Mommy. He has glowing gray eyes like mine. He was kind too. He's my daddy," Angelina persisted, her conviction surprising both Carissa and Daisy.

Carissa exchanged a bewildered glance with Daisy before trying to gently reason with her daughter. "Sweetheart, I think…"

Carissa's words trailed off as Daisy joined her side, leaning in to whisper. "Do you think he's somewhere around here?"

Carissa knew exactly who Daisy was referring to, but she shook her head slightly in response.
