Thane opened the bathroom door, looked up and down the hallway, and let out a sigh of relief when he saw no one, "Okay, no one's around."

Stepping out into the hallway, Thane glanced over his shoulder, "Are you sure you can walk."

"Not another word," Daphne hissed as she stumbled out of the bathroom, her steps cautious and unsteady, as if each one took tremendous effort, "If I could use my legs properly, I would kick you."

Thane rolled his eyes, "Then don't sit on my face next time."

"Shhh," Daphne tried to quiet Thane as she looked up and down the hallway conspiratorially, "Do you want someone to hear you?"

Thane opened his mouth with a snarky reply on the tip of his tongue when Daphne's eyes met his. The words died in Thane's throat as he stared at Daphne with her clothes unkempt, face flushed, and the dark hickeys along her neck barely hidden by her robes.

"W-why are you looking at me like that?" Daphne stammered, "Don't tell me you-"

With two quick strides, Thane stood over Daphne and leaned down, his lips pursed, and his eyes drifted closed. All Daphne registered was Thane's lips moving towards her own, but her body reacted for her.

Almost immediately, Daphne noticed something different as she and Thane kissed. Until that point, his advances had been nearly forceful, full of a burning passion. Daphne found herself consumed by his desire and responded in kind. But now...

Thane broke away, and Daphne was left stunned as her chest burned with a simmering heat that made her heart pound like a drum, "W-what was that for?"

"I don't know," Thane replied, his voice low and steady, "But it felt right."

Daphne blushed, her cheeks turning a light rose as she stared up at Thane, "I-I...I felt right to me as well."

A broad smile stretched across Thane's face as he felt an invisible weight start to lift from his shoulders, "I guess you can tell your mother that you got on my good side."

"My mother and her schemes can go fuck themselves. I did this for me," Daphne muttered harshly before she threw her arms around Thane's neck and pulled him in for another kiss.

Losing himself as their lips met, Thane reached out and plucked on the bond between them, now more tangible than ever, letting his emotions flow freely. Thane felt Daphne stiffen momentarily before relaxing, and he felt a surge of emotions rush through the bond and into his body. Their emotions mixed and melded as Thane suddenly became vaguely aware of every fear, hope, and aspiration Daphne had, and she became aware of his.

So lost in the magic connecting them, Thane didn't notice the three familiar auras turn around the corner behind them until they were only a few feet away.

"Oi, what the bloody hell is going on here?!"

Startled, Daphne broke off from the kiss and spun around to face their audience. Meanwhile, Thane's eyes open as a rumbling growl comes from his chest, pissed off at being interrupted, 'Why him...I think I would have preferred Malfoy.'

Daphne whirled around, blushing from equal parts embarrassment and frustration as her moment of bliss was cut short. "D-don't you know it's rude to stare!"

"Couldn't you two find a better place to try and suck each other's face off."

Thane peered over Daphne's head and stared at Ron, Hermione, and Harry; he knew he should be embarrassed for making out in public, but all Thane wanted to do was shove it in their faces. He wanted everyone to know that Daphne was his and his alone.

"We were just leaving," Thane replied as his hand came down to rest on Daphne's hip, pulling her to his side before trailing back to rest solely on her butt. Daphne flinched, but she didn't pull away. Instead, Thane felt her push back into his hand, "What are you guys doing out here."

"N-nothing," Ron stammered as he took in what Daphne was wearing and glanced down at where Thane's hand was, "W-we were just-"

"My eyes are up here, Weasley," Daphne interrupted as she pressed herself against Thane. A fierce blush spread across Ron's freckled cheeks as he glanced away.

"You shouldn't be wearing that. We could report you for breaking the dress code," Hermione chimed in obnoxiously, only for Daphne to narrow her eyes, "Try it and see what happens."

"Is that a threat?" Hermione asked, and Thane felt her aura flare with hate and perhaps not that surprising jealousy.

"Hermione, stop it," Harry spoke up as he put a hand on Hermione's shoulder, "They're not worth it."

Hermione shrugged off Harry's hand but didn't say anything, instead glaring intensely at Daphne, who glared right back.

Harry sighed before staring at Thane, who met his gaze, "Every time we meet, you're becoming more and more of an asshole."

"I don't consider you an enemy, Harry," Thane replied, "I've only acted to secure and protect what's mine and my interest."

"Is that what you consider my sister?!" Harry asked as he took a threatening step forward, "An interest?!"

Before Thane could respond, he felt Daphne stir as her melody rose a sharp whistle note like a fierce gale passing through a narrow canyon, opening sharp and cutting.

Thane glanced down at Daphne only to see her eyes fixated on Harry with a hate-filled gaze. As her melody strengthened, the loose dust on the floor around her was kicked up by an invisible wind.

'What did I say...a fierce protector indeed.' Thane's beast chimed in.

Thane agreed, but now was not the time for Daphne to unleash her newly discovered abilities, which she had no idea how to utilize or control.

"I think we're done here, Daphne," Thane replied as he tightened his grip on Daphne and turned around, pulling her out of whatever trance had enthralled her.

"W-what happened," Daphne asked, looking around as if she had been teleported somewhere completely different.

"While I don't mind a bit of possessiveness, you can't go attack anyone who looks at me wrong," Thane replied only a bit jokingly.

"I-I don't know what happened, I just started hearing this note and..." Daphne trailed off as her brow furrowed clearly trying to piece together what was happening to her.

Thane let out a short sigh, "I should have considered this a possibility, but I didn't consider things to escalate this quickly."

Daphne glanced at Thane, "What are you talking about."

Thane pursed his lips before nodded as if reassuring himself, "I believe it's time I stop facing my problems alone. You and Luna, and Rose deserve the truth so you can prepare yourself for what's to come."

Daphne's eyebrow rose, "Luna and Rose? Should I be worried?"

Thane stumbled, eliciting a laugh from Daphne as she grabbed Thane's arm to steady him, "Relax, it is expected for someone of your station to have multiple wives and several concubines. I won't protest."

"I-I wasn't..." Thane tried to explain only for Daphne to speak up again.

"As long as I am your first wife, we won't have any problems."
