Lu Yebai pursed his lips, looking at the utterly distraught Meng Zichen, saying no further.
Lady Lu pulled him to one side.
"Yebai," she knew she can't hide it anymore. Now that Meng Zichen was back, Lu Yebai would never let it go. Those past events would sooner or later be unearthed by him. Looking at her son's pale face, she whispered, "The child is innocent. If you have any questions, go ask Meng Xi'er. I only found out about Xiaochen's matter today."
Lu Yebai appeared gloomy, silent.
Just as he was about to let Meng Xi'er leave for good, she gave him such a surprise.
How many more secrets is this woman hiding from him?
"Don't ask me," whispered Lady Lu, heaving a sigh, "I'm not clear about your affairs. Asking Meng Xi'er about how things were back then would be easier than asking me. It's been four years since I last saw her."
Lu Yebai looked up at her, "What happened to me four years ago?"
Lady Lu hesitated, casting her son a glance.
