By the time he returned to the villa, Lu Yebai was mostly sober. He sat on the sofa, drinking the hangover soup brought by a servant, his face sullen and expressionless.
Lun You knew that he had blundered tonight, reminded him of his heartache, and didn't dare to say anything. As he watched Lu Yebai's silent demeanor, he sighed.
"Yebai, just forget it. Don't push yourself anymore," he said earnestly. "While it's still early, she can't have disappeared without a trace. Let me send someone to bring her back."
Lu Yebai continued sipping the hangover soup quietly, without uttering a single word.
"Why do you keep pushing yourself? Just look at what you've become." Lun You walked over, took the teacup from his hand, and placed it on the coffee table. "Stop drinking. Don't you know I can see you've already sobered up? Stop pretending to be drunk!"
Lun You was really angry. He couldn't stand to see Lu Yebai half dead over a woman— it simply wasn't worth it.
