The sudden change in music caught everyone off guard.
Clark quickly accessed the system interface to check the details of the new BGM, finding its appearance bizarrely abrupt, switching out the previous tune without warning.
Wind and Cloud 2
Level: 1 (Non-upgradable)
Effect: Has a chance to trigger during a life-and-death crisis for the host. Once successfully triggered, the host will temporarily wield the power of one of the three great skills from "Wind and Cloud" for a certain period.
The description was simple yet puzzling.
Triggering during a life-and-death crisis meant it couldn't be activated at will, relying on luck.
While depending on looks wasn't an issue for Clark, who had become "exceptionally average" after his successful weight loss and, under the effect of "Watch Me Transform 72 Times," had seen his attractiveness increase daily, surpassing movie superheroes, his luck was another story.
However, his luck seemed good today, having triggered the BGM immediately upon awakening.
But which of the "Wind and Cloud" trilogy's great skills was it?
No Seeking Yi Jue?
Sword Twenty-Three?
Maha Infinite?
Or was it All Swords Return to the Clan?
With numerous peerless skills in "Wind and Cloud," although limited by the system, none could pose a real threat to the already perfected Thanos. Still, several could counter the Green Giant's unique moves.
Clark didn't know which three were ranked at the top, but any notable skill from Wind and Cloud would undoubtedly eliminate the three old monsters in front of him.
With high hopes, Clark continued reading.
His smile then gradually froze on his face.
Wind and Cloud 2 BGM triggered successfully, activating one of the Wind and Cloud trilogy's great skills: "Not Inferior to Me"!
Not Inferior to Me: Can be activated against an opponent after the current battle triggered by the BGM ends, within one day. Simply stating "You are not inferior to me" to the opponent will curse them, causing a rapid decline in a certain ability of the target, possibly rendering them incapable of recovery.
Its power was terrifying, earning it the title of the ultimate jinx!
Note: Each use of "Not Inferior to Me" consumes 1 million impression points. If insufficient, the skill cannot be activated.
Clark had never imagined that awakening a BGM would grant such an effect.
The so-called ultimate jinx "Not Inferior to Me" sounded powerful, but it offered no help in his current battle!
And as for after the battle, that would only matter if he survived it!
Now, the newly awakened BGM not only failed to aid the battle but also replaced the original effect of "Men Should Strengthen Themselves," with no way to revert.
With a bitter smile, Clark tightened his grip on the cloth staff, saying, "Since they've laid this trap to catch us, the ones who usually oppose them, they won't let us go easily. So, what else is there to say? Let's fight!"
Scanning his three opponents, Clark proudly declared, "Everyone, be alert. None of these old folks are simple characters. They're far beyond us, not at all like the ordinary ninjas we've easily killed before. Don't underestimate them."
"Understood!" The Punisher stepped forward to confront Murakami in ninja attire, "This guy's mine. Old man, you won't mind if I use my guns against you, right?"
Murakami slowly drew his katana, "Reliance on external tools is merely a minor path."
Meanwhile, Daredevil approached the most vigorous Gambler, splitting his dual sticks and silently preparing for battle.
Gambler, too, silently drew his sword, ready to fight.
Seeing the two automatically pick their opponents, Clark could only bitterly smile internally. Did you really think this old lady was the weakest of the three?
But he didn't say much, aware only that Madame Gao was not to be underestimated.
With his cloth staff ready, Clark instructed, "Hawkeye, please provide support from the rear for all three fronts. Hit-Girl, you're in charge of protecting Hawkeye." This was not really asking the girl to fight but to keep her occupied and out of trouble.
Having spoken, Clark launched an attack on Madame Gao with his staff spinning, initiating the battle.
Clark's move set off a chain reaction, transforming the serene scene into a frenzied battlefield.
Five superheroes faced off against three of The Hand's Five Fingers, making for an enthralling clash. The battlefield was divided into three sections, each with its own unique dynamics.
Daredevil and Gambler's fight was a showcase of martial prowess, both true warriors making their battle a sight to behold.
On the other side, Punisher and Murakami's clash was a duel of cold-blooded killers, one with guns and the other with a blade, both deadly and fraught with peril.
Clark's battle was the most thrilling, his cloth staff demonstrating power and flexibility, compensating for the gap in explosive force between him and Madame Gao.
Under their cover, Hawkeye could confidently focus on shooting, with Hit-Girl guarding him. Though his arrows were lethal against ordinary foes, they posed limited threat to these centuries-old adversaries, serving mainly to distract and relieve his allies.
Despite the pressure from The Hand's three members, the five superheroes gradually found synergy, enduring the onslaught and reducing the frequency of their injuries, though not without cost.
Clark was relatively better off, managing self-defense with weapon advantage and Hawkeye's support. Daredevil and Punisher, however, suffered injuries, with Daredevil bleeding profusely from a cut and Punisher nearly incapacitated by a punch from Murakami.
Their ability to continue fighting was dwindling fast.
