Chapitre 24: Chapter 24: Malice from S.H.I.E.L.D. (Edited)

The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division, known as S.H.I.E.L.D., is a special task force of the International Security Council designed to handle various strange events. Originally called the Strategic Scientific Reserve during World War II, it was a military organization founded by Chester Phillips, Howard Stark, Peggy Carter, among others, primarily aimed at combating the Hydra organization led by the Red Skull.

The current director of S.H.I.E.L.D. is Alexander Pierce.

Pierce also has another identity; he is a Hydra undercover agent.

Ironically, but that's the truth.

At this moment, Director Pierce's desk is laden with a file on Clark Lee. The details within would undoubtedly make Clark, the subject, blush with embarrassment.

"Clark Lee was just an ordinary high school student until two months ago when he suddenly changed, as if becoming a different person. His personality and temperament completely altered, and even after just two months of training, his appearance has undergone a drastic transformation."

Sitting in his office chair, Pierce spoke with a serious expression.

A burly white man sitting on the sofa by the wall, after reviewing Clark's file, asked with some confusion, "This sounds like an inspiring story, but I don't understand what makes him worth our attention. Are you planning to recruit him into S.H.I.E.L.D. or..."

He stopped mid-sentence, leaving the rest unsaid, as certain words were not suitable for this context.

"Of course, I'm not interested in a high school student's inspiring story. What interests me is Hank Pym," Pierce paused briefly before continuing, "Now, this Clark Lee is somehow involved with Hank Pym, even initiated by Pym himself."

The burly man, known as Rumlow, was taken aback. Clark might not be of interest, but Hank Pym was a different story.

However, Rumlow was more adept at solving problems with his fists rather than engaging in cunning schemes. So, without delving into the intricacies, he directly asked, "What do you want me to do?"

"Pierce, with a stern expression, said, "Rumlow, I hope you can extract some secrets about Hank Pym from him. Bring along truth serum or whatever, I don't insist on extracting a lot of information. But one thing, do not expose S.H.I.E.L.D. or our existence. Do you understand?"

Rumlow, referred to here, nodded, "Understood!"

In the Marvel Universe, a sci-fi world, scientific knowledge is undeniably a mainstream power.

Here, the extent of one's scientific knowledge is a testament to their potential. Without a couple of doctoral degrees, it would be embarrassing to even greet someone.

Not to mention old-timers like Captain America and the Winter Soldier, modern superheroes all boast impressive educational backgrounds.

Even the Hulk, known for his brute strength, holds seven doctoral degrees! And Scott Lang, Hank Pym's protégé and the second Ant-Man, has a Master's degree! Black Widow, with top-notch espionage skills! Thor might seem like a brute, but he could give lessons to astrophysicist Jane Foster! Spider-Man, a top student!

Doctor Strange, the title "Doctor" says it all!

Counting down, it seems the Avengers with the lowest educational background are Hawkeye and Falcon, the two "Hawk" generation underachievers, hence their relatively low profile.

"Be good at Math and Science, and you can travel the world fearlessly," is a saying that holds true in the Marvel Universe!

In this world, knowledge is like internal strength in martial arts. Without it, one might not become a strong person, but to become a grandmaster, it is an essential prerequisite!

Realizing the value of knowledge, Clark studies with great diligence. Now, in addition to attending classes, exercising, practicing martial arts, and writing novels, learning quantum mechanics has become an indispensable part of his life.

For this, he has completely sacrificed all his entertainment time.

Clark's learning speed also greatly satisfies Hank Pym. Clark quickly grasps everything Pym teaches and can apply knowledge creatively, progressing faster than any genius Pym has ever encountered! Of course, this is mainly thanks to Janet's tutoring in his dreams every day, but neither Hank Pym knows this, nor does Clark remember it upon waking. He can only silently enjoy the benefits of this dual education without understanding why.

He even starts to wonder, could he truly be a genius in the field of quantum mechanics?

October 5th, Monday.

"Actually, there are some things I feel I should discuss with Uncle Pym," Clark suddenly said after another of Pym's lessons, "Although I feel these things might not be related to Aunt Janet, and I'm not even sure if it's worth mentioning, keeping it to myself feels uncomfortable."

Pym was taken aback and instinctively asked, "What things?"

"The glimpses I saw in the quantum realm."

Pym was visibly shaken, "Can you be more specific?"

Clark nodded, pretending to be in deep thought before saying, "These past few days, I vaguely recall seeing snippets of the future in the quantum realm."

After careful consideration, Clark finally decides to play the role of a seer. After all, if he wants to meddle in certain matters, he needs Pym's help, something he can't achieve on his own in the short term.

"For example, Captain America will be found alive decades later, having been frozen all this time. In my memories, the people who excavated Cap seemed to have said 'he was discovered by a few Russian oil workers' and 'the terrain here changes every day'... Well, that's about all I remember regarding Captain America."

As Clark talks about the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Pym's expression becomes entirely grave.

Although the story ends with the crisis averted, as a superhero, Pym wouldn't want to gamble Earth's fate on the internal conflict of an alien being, "Do you have more detailed information about this message?"

Thank you to the reader "Monk vs Taoist Priest" for the 100 starting coins donation.

Speaking of which, your name reminds me of a martial arts short story. It involved years of grievances between three major sects, breaking conventional morals with a gripping plot, hinting at a storm of blood and violence. Full of anticipation, it left numerous cliffhangers.

The entire story was: "Baldy, dare to snatch the abbess from me!"
