After Lithira stopped crying, she got back to her work. Putting the Golem Rune Matrix into the golem. She went to the golem, opened the lid in the middle of its chest, and inserted the matrix.
Suddenly, the golem's eyes glowed emerald and started to move. It stands up, ready for its first order.
"You can take this golem and its friends with you. There are three more of them outside my workshop." Lithira said turning her back on him.
Lucien noticed that Lithira's posture seemed slightly downcast, and her eyes red from crying.
"Are you still upset with me? Please forgive me," Lucien implored, approaching her.
But Lithira didn't want to answer, she was still mad at him. So she wants to give him the silent treatment.
Lucien merely smiled, he wanted to tease her more. Sneaking up behind her, he gently touched her hip, causing her to startle at the unexpected contact.
"What are you doing?! Don't touch me, I hate you!" Lithira protested, trying to break free from his grasp even as her cheeks flushed crimson.
Laughing, Lucien pulled her into a hug from behind, his face nestled close to her hair. "I'll let go if you forgive me," he offered.
Lithira's body tensed as she tried to get out of him. She wanted to use her dragon power but she was scared that he would be hurt. So in the end, she agreed to him.
"Yes... Yes! I forgive you! Just let me go!" she said giving up struggling.
She just realized that despite having a beautiful face, Lucien has a broad shoulder. His body was also hard, like it was made out of muscle.
"Great, no more sulking. You're truly beautiful when you smile," Lucien remarked, gazing at her face with genuine admiration.
Lithira's flower started to bloom again in her hair when she looked into his happy eyes. She knows she couldn't hide it, so in the end she just sucks it up and hopes the flowers go away fast.
Respecting her boundaries, Lucien released his hold on Lithira, not wanting to push her too far and risk her hating him.
But since he still wanted to spend time with her, he said, "Why don't you come to the village with me? It must be boring to stay cooped up in here for too long."
Lithira looks surprised by the question. But her answer was firm, "I don't want to. I'm fine here."
Lucien could see her troubled face and there was a hint of scaredness in it. It seemed something really bad happened to her because of humans.
He didn't know how could a dragon be scared of a mere human. But the trauma was trauma, he couldn't judge it further.
"I promise it'll only be for a short while. How about just ten minutes?"
In his heart, he wished for Lithira to be welcomed in the village, knowing her powers could greatly benefit the community. If she could become part of the village, many of its problems could be swiftly resolved.
"I'll take care of you, so you don't need to worry about anything," he assured her once more, determined to ensure her safety.
Lithira raised a skeptical brow, amazed by Lucien's confidence. "You do know I'm stronger than you, right?" she pointed out.
"Well, that's true," Lucien conceded. "But that doesn't mean you feel safe around the village," he reasoned, extending his hand to her. "So?"
Lithira wanted to slap that hand. But her mother's word echoes in her mind that she needs to get over all of her trauma.
Since Lucien was a chief village and he was responsible and kind to her, maybe, just maybe, all of his villagers would be like that too.
Warm, charming, kindhearted...
Lithira gazed into his eyes, for some reason, she knew that she would be fine if she was by Lucien's side. Even if he was a human, she felt safe around him, like she used to.
"Alright, I'll come with you," she agreed, reaching out to grasp his hand.
Lucien, taken aback by her unexpected acceptance, couldn't hide his delight. With their hands intertwined, the two of them set off for the village, accompanied by the three golems trailing behind them.
As they arrived, the workers ceased their tasks, their gazes filled with curiosity as they observed them, especially with Lithira by his side.
Approaching them, Gibson couldn't contain his curiosity. "My Lord, who is this lady?" he inquired, his eyes flicking between the two of them.
Grinning mischievously, Lucien replied, "Another one of my women... Her name is Lithira, and she's the mastermind behind these impressive golems."
Lithira was left speechless by his response, her earlier nervousness dissipating at his words.
His woman? They just met not long ago! How could he confidently say something like that?
Gibson nodded enthusiastically, expressing his gratitude. "Thank you, Lady, for creating these golems. They've been incredibly helpful to us," he said, bowing deeply.
Although she wanted to respond, Lithira found herself too overwhelmed to speak, her anxiety getting the best of her.
Understanding her discomfort, Lucien stepped in to answer on her behalf. "She's proud of her creations and hopes to contribute even more in the future."
Lithira stomped on his foot because it wasn't something that she wanted to say. Before she protested further, more of the workers surrounded them and thanked her for the golems and also stared at how beautiful she was.
Observing Lithira's expression closely, Lucien felt a sense of relief wash over him as she seemed to handle the attention from the villagers with ease.
After that, he gives the golems their instructions, pointing out the areas needing repair, the rest area, the kitchen tent, and the medical tent for the workers.
So if the golems found the abnormality in the workers' bodies, they could help them reach the medical tent faster.
Recognizing the need for medical assistance, Lucien enlisted the help of Amanda, the only healer and doctor who existed in the village.
Additionally, he had arranged for housewives and children to assist in preparing food and water, not only to support the workers but also to stimulate the village's economy.
Because if they could work and make money for their family, the more necessities they could buy.
Lucien then decided to visit the medical tent first and found Amanda who now sat inside the medical tent clad in a black robe, a stark contrast to the white coats of the modern world.
"How's the situation, Dr. Amanda?" Lucien inquired, seeking her assessment of the workers' health.
"They're holding up well. Most of them are old but still as sturdy as ever, especially with the generous pay you provide," Amanda remarked, adjusting her glasses.
However, her attention shifted to Lithira holding a hand with him, and Lucien braced himself for her blunt remarks.
With a mischievous twinkle in her eye, Amanda addressed Lucien, "Young Lord, you sure are greedy. Keeping them satisfied in bed, are you?" she teased, causing Lithira to blush furiously and a chuckle to escape Lucien.
Ignoring the awkwardness, Amanda continued, "Ah yes, your other woman is in the kitchen, eating like a cow. Well, her body certainly looks like one," she remarked, her words sharp but tinged with humor.
Lucien sighed, realizing that Brigantiea must be indulging in another hearty meal. Despite the kitchen workers' affection for her, Brigantiea's voracious appetite often left them scrambling to keep up.
He led Lithira to the bustling kitchen near the medical tent, where workers in white aprons bustled about, tending to stoves and stirring pots of simmering soup.
Among them, Brigantiea stood out with a basket of bread in one hand and a bowl of soup in the other, ready to indulge in her meal.
"Brigantiea!" Lucien's voice rang out, causing the workers to pause and turn their attention to him. "Come here."
With a mouthful of bread, Brigantiea reluctantly swallowed, put the bowl to the table, and made her way towards Lucien, her annoyed expression evident as she continued munching.
Once she stood before him, Lucien sighed and admonished her, "I've told you not to take food from here or from the villagers! They're already struggling to feed their families. Don't make it harder for them."
"But they offered it to me. Why should I refuse?" Brigantiea protested, clutching her basket tightly against her chest.
"Brigantiea," Lucien implored, reaching for the basket.
"No!" she exclaimed, turning away and hiding the basket behind her back.
"Brigantiea!" Lucien's tone grew firmer, but she remained defiant.
It wasn't the first time Lithira looking her mother act like a child. Sometimes she was even more childish, but still, she looked amazed because, after thousands of years, she was still the same.
Lucien then let go of Lithira's hand and tried to get the basket away from Brigantiea. The two of them ended up playing the tug of war to get the basket full of bread. While the workers just laugh at their antics.
Suddenly, Amane's voice rang out, interrupting the lighthearted atmosphere. "Hello, everyone! I'm here again to give you the most delicious meal ever!" she announced cheerfully, appearing out of nowhere in the kitchen.
Lucien released his hold on the basket, his attention shifting to his mother's presence. While Brigantiea was busy putting all the bread into her mouth.
He was more worried about Amane existence here than Brigantiea's gluttony. It was because she couldn't cook.
"Mother, what are you doing here?"
And her food could poison everyone who consumes that thing!
I will be so stressed if I become Lucien LMAO
