As Zhao Tian raised his head from the sleeping position, he glanced at the bunch of men wearing black hoods walking toward him.

He gently tapped Li Xueyan's arm, trying to wake her up "Xueyan, we got some company..."

She mumbled, her voice barely audible as she snuggled closer, her head resting against his chest.

The group drew closer, and one of them, a large man wielding a crude axe, stopped just a few paces away.

His rough voice cut through the air, breaking the peaceful silence of the air. 

"Stand up! Both of you!" he shouted, his eyes darting between Zhao Tian and the still-sleeping Li Xueyan.
