When the prosecutor was finally finished with her address, the judge cleared his throat and spoke up.

"I have listened to both sides, and I can say with certainty that this crime deserves nothing less than suitable punishment. The panel of judges will convene and give their verdict, after which I will pass judgment. Everyone in the courtroom turned to Salazar. The man was sitting straight up on a bench inside the defendant's box, and he turned to the judge with a raised brow when he heard the man addressing him.
