"Sir, the autopsy results are out and here."

"Bring it to my office," Rhett barked, standing up immediately and happy that one thing was moving. "Now."

With an identical look of concern, Farkas and Rhett abandoned their talk and scrambled to Rhett's office. As they entered his office, they found Alistair standing stiffly at attention. A thick file rested in his hands.

"Sir, the autopsy report on the latest victim," Alistair announced, his voice tight. "Delivered directly from the pack doctors."

Rhett snatched the file, his eyes skimming the contents. "And?"

Sweat beaded on Alistair's brow. "The results are— disturbing, sir. The victim was a wolf—a young one. A boy, from the looks of it. One good bad thing is that he was killed in the same pattern as the last victim. Eaten to death."

The thought of it was nauseating. The pain…

"As we've suspected." Rhett nodded, clenching his jaw.
