"Don't," Lex said as he stopped me from chasing after his assistant.
"Lex, she deserves an explanation," I hissed at him.
He stood up from behind his desk and marched over to me. Lex was at least a head taller than me, normally if he looked down at someone and glared at them they would shrink in intimidation, but not me.
"Tell me, cousin, why does she?" he asked.
"Because—" He doesn't even let me complete my sentence before speaking.
"She isn't my girlfriend, she isn't my fiancée, she isn't my wife, there is nothing tying us together that would warrant an explanation," he said.
I shook my head, rejecting his words.
"She clearly likes you back, Lex and she's clearly hurting," I told him as I put my hands on his chest and shoved him away.
"Tell me, Lilith, after you explain the situation between us, what if she gets hopeful that something could happen between me and her?" he questioned.
