Chapitre 2: A prince, a doctor and an assassin
Han Xuexin never imagined the day would come when she would be surrounded by seven men in her tiny living room.

In the novel 'Undying Devotion' where Li Jisheng was the villain, Han Xuexin concluded the story where he fell in love with the female lead. However, he was tossed aside by the woman he loves and to forget about her, he decided to participate in warfare by being a knight himself.
That's how he went from a dashing and charming prince to an unfathomable commander in the feudal army of Yuanhua Kingdom.
"Staring too much won't help you. Why don't you try to touch me to see if I'm real?" Li Jisheng offered as he crossed his arms, "It must be a shock to you to meet the characters you've only imagined."
He stated as he smiled at her, and just as Han Xuexin began to think that Li Jisheng was the nicest and most approachable among them, he added cynically, "It was a shock to me also when I knew I was only a character written on paper."
Han Xuexin looked away.
They must have all been bitter about the fact that everything in their life was simply a product of imagination written on some paper.
"Why don't you drink some water first? You seem pale."
Han Xuexin looked at the guy who just placed a cup of water on the center table, and her lips couldn't help but purse.
Now it feels like she was the guest of her own home and they were the owners.
How the hell did she end up in this situation?
It still feels like a dream to her, but she had already pinched herself many times to the point that her pale skin had already turned red, yet she's still stuck on the couch surrounded by seven men.

The Doctor from the novel 'Flower of Despair'. He is a sought physician knowledgeable in many fields in the Nandong Empire.
His reputation is well-known throughout the different lands, and everyone— from peasants to kings —respects him.
Shen Li's Identity isn't as scary as the others, but what he can do is on par with them. The female protagonist's love interest was poisoned by Yang Zihao because he had fallen in love with her. However, something unexpected happened. Yang Zihao ended up poisoning the female lead instead. Although he was able to save her, the female lead was disappointed with him and it has a big impact on him as he stopped treating people.
That's how his story ended.
"Thank you," She softly mumbled as she grabbed the cup.
"Is there anything you want to ask? You must have a lot of questions," Yang Zihao asked.
Han Xuexin couldn't help but nod immediately, looking like a chicken pecking on some rice, "Who wouldn't have questions—" Her eyes suddenly collided with the other guy wearing a black outfit, and she suddenly had a feeling that if ever the wrong words came up her mouth, she wouldn't live past another day.
Han Xuexin forced a grin on her lips and cleared her throat before asking, "Yes, I do have questions. Will you allow me to ask?" in a calm and respectful manner this time.
The man who imposed the greatest fear on her is Anlei. He was only called Anlei in the novel 'The forbidden Embrace', and the reason why Han Xuexin is afraid of him is that he is an assassin.
She is aware of the man's tendency to act without hesitation when he feels that something needs to be done.
His name is feared among the people in Qishan Empire. Once your name is listed on his list, consider yourself as dead as there is no person who had lived from his grasp. Anlei was a villain in the novel.
His fellow assassin, the male lead of the book, goes against the Assassin's order. He failed to kill his target because he fell in love with her, the female lead. Anlei told the sect about the male lead's failure which caused the female and male lead to be hunted by the other assassins. However, the couple had managed to find safety, acquire a new identity, and lead happy lives.
"You people in this world are so courteous, huh," scoffed the man seated next to her.
Han Xuexin disregarded what he said and asked, "How did you know that you were fictional characters in my novels?"
"We went through the things in your room. Is that enough to answer your question?"
Han Xuexin could feel the corner of her eye twitch with Anlei's answer.
Now not only did they go around her apartment as if they were the owners, they also searched through her belongings!
And he's stating it as if it was the right thing to do!
'Serves you right that you all suffered in the novels with the attitudes you have!'
Han Xuexin thought so, but her face once again forced another smile, "Oh no, it's fine, completely fine with me!"
She didn't inquire further because she knows that she has a copy of every single book she has written in her room.
Aside from that, the biggest takeaway was her green board plastered on the other side of her bedside. Where all the events, places, kingdoms, dates, and characters are all written and explained.
It shows how the stories are connected to each other because all of the characters exist in one world.
