"Quick, open the Box; let's see what you got inside..." Lara said excitedly.
Lee Han's eyes widened in surprise when he saw what he got in the box.
"Automatic assault rifle—it's an M27."
He often used this firearm while playing beta tester. Assault rifles are versatile weapons for dealing with regular and more formidable enemies. Because of the larger magazine, they have more rounds with bigger caliber bullets, allowing for longer, more deadly, sustained fire.
This rifle will surely make him feel safer and more confident in this real-life battle. This gift was much better than he expected.
Lee Han took out the fully loaded rifle excitedly, but it was too bad he couldn't use it now. He also can't bring this rifle casually because it is big and heavy.
He decides to spend all his coins to buy storage space in his system. He needs this space to place his belongings as he can't attach all his weapons to his vest — It can trigger other adventurers to steal from him.
Lee Han felt rather sad when he saw his coins now empty again. But after he checks the function of his space storage, his sadness gradually fades. The space could keep large objects like cars.
"At least I could keep this car in my storage," he mumbled while turning on the car. "Alright, let's leave this place, Lara."
Lee Han had to drive back to his hometown to check the conditions. If there were no obstacles on the way, he could reach his city in three hours — arrived there before nightfall.
Nightfall was the scarier thing in this place. He can't stay outside because the temperature at night will be freezing — he might end up being an ice sculpture in the morning.
"Master, wait a moment..." Lara's voice stopped Lee Han from starting the car engine. "You still have other gifts." She says.
"Another gift? Earlier, I didn't see anything in the box," He checked the box, which was now gone from his system.
"Check your system notification, master."
Lee Han was surprised to see there was a notification there.
[Congratulations, you have obtained Divine Eyes Ability.]
[Activate now, Yes/No. ]
"Lara, is this part of the rewards?" His tone couldn't hide how happy he was to get this gift now.
"Yes, master. With Divine Eyes ability, you can see your targets even if they hide behind walls or underground. You will also see how many coins you can earn when eliminating them." Lara explained.
"I know..." He already knew about the Divine Eyes ability. When he played as a beta tester, he had Divine Eyes, and this ability immensely helped him survive.
Lee Han immediately activated his divine eyes and checked his surroundings.
The radius of this Divine Eyes was limited to only a few tens of meters, but it was more than enough for him to create a safe distance. He could check the surrounding buildings without having to ask Lara again.
Finding no undead or humans around, Lee Han decides to start the car. He will check his surroundings while driving.
After a few minutes of driving left the destroyed church, Lee Han could see the city behind was utterly empty—perhaps only him in this vast city.
This city is quiet. All that can be heard is the sound of the wind blowing and his car engines tearing through the empty streets.
Lee Han also doesn't know the current time. He can only guess that some time has passed because the orange sun has already crossed over his head.
He stepped on the accelerator further when he saw the buildings he passed were getting sparser — he was getting closer to the city border.
Soon, at the side of the road, Lee Han could only see an empty field, and in the distance, a dangerous-looking forest caught his eye.
Several times, Lee Han passed empty cars in the middle of the road, and a few had crashed into ditches.
Despite encountering several cars stopped in the middle of the road, his vehicle could still pass.
However, after almost an hour of driving, he observed many cars blocking his way in the distance.
His car stopped when there was no more road to traverse.
"Why is there traffic here?" Lee Han said while inspecting the street ahead with his divine eyes.
What he saw shocked him. The only bridge connecting this city to his hometown was severely damaged and impassable by car.
It was frightening that numerous cars were empty and had been abandoned by their owners in a hurry—the doors were still open, and many suitcases and bags were scattered on the road.
Lee Han could imagine how frightening these people were to leave this town and save themselves from the undead and monsters' invasion.
Sigh!
Now, he had no choice but to walk across the bridge ahead. However, walking about a mile ahead is not a favorable option.
"Lara, can you see what's at the end of the bridge?" Lee Han asked because his vision was limited; he could only see a few meters before him.
"I do," Lara's voice sounded worried. She didn't reply to him; instead, she asked, "Master, do you intend to cross the bridge now?"
Hearing her worried tone was enough to make Lee Han know her concern. "Is there a danger ahead?"
"Yes. I don't know whether you can handle it. But I'm sure you won't be able to cross this bridge quickly; you will likely be trapped on the bridge when night falls..."
A look of surprise flashed across Lee Han's eyes, hearing Lara's explanation.
But a second later, he maintained his calmness as he asked, "Can you tell me how many undead in there?"
"They are not undead but mutated animals. They are usually called monsters. These monsters are not a problem if you cross the bridge before night comes. But, if you pass the bridge at night, the flying Bat creatures will trouble you..."
Lee Han secretly swallowed hard. He knew how powerful these flying creatures would be if they attacked en masse. And he had no weapons to withstand their attacks.
But he would be wasting his time if he returned to the city now. He couldn't back down!
Lee Han summons his system and checks the time. He only has two hours before the night comes.
After quick thinking, Lee Han decides to cross the bridge. He places his car inside his storage space.
"Let's move, Lara!" He said after taking out his new assault rifle.
