Chapitre 36: Chapter 36: The Distant Sniper
The fragment of knowledge about marksmanship not only provided David with the know-how of using firearms, but also imparted extensive knowledge about the construction and functions of the firearms themselves.
This instantly transformed David into a master marksman on the battlefield! Consequently, at that moment, David identified the fleeting glimmer as the light from a sniper rifle.
David quickly closed the window, and at that moment, a man perched on a distant building with a sniper rifle pulled the trigger.

A gunshot rang out, and a bullet instantly flew from the barrel, crashing into the glass of David's home.
Though David's door was reinforced to level two and the walls even to level three, his windows were only level one. And windows inherently offer less protection than doors and walls, even at the same level; even upgraded to bulletproof glass, they were only resistant to small-caliber bullets. However, this was a sniper rifle bullet!
Therefore, the bullet instantly penetrated David's window. Had David not ducked swiftly, it might have hit him right in the head!
Who was it?
David hid in the shadow of the wall beside the window and quickly moved to a location that was impossible to be sniped from outside.
He cursed inwardly, grateful for the fragment of marksmanship knowledge he had acquired earlier; otherwise, he would have died in that instant, cluelessly.

He focused on a tall building ahead, slightly taller than his own, and finally saw someone.
That person was still holding a sniper rifle, dressed in a thick white cotton jacket with a hat, looking to be in his thirties.
Zooming in further, he noticed another person standing behind the sniper, inside the building, wearing black sunglasses with a tattoo on his face, but his right ear appeared damaged, missing almost half.
Remembering this feature, David moved to the terminal for the floating bomb, preparing to direct it to kill those two.
However, moving the bomb was different from moving the surveillance; it needed to physically go there.
In the surveillance footage, the sniper, having not seen David for a long time, seemed to give up and left with the man with the damaged ear.
David coldly muttered, "Don't think you can escape like this."
He switched to the floating surveillance at Charles's home and said, "Charles, could you come up here for a moment? I have something to talk to you about."
Charles, who had just returned and was about to make himself a rare cup of tea in this cold world, was startled by David's voice directly in his ear.
Could David really be a god? Despite recognizing David's extraordinary nature before, Charles was still shocked by the overt display of extraordinary power.
"Is that... David?" he asked uncertainly.
"Yes, it's me," David said calmly. "I want to make a deal with you."
Charles immediately stood up, saying, "Alright, I'll come right up."
He then hurried upstairs. The guards at the door, surprised by Charles's urgency, followed him. Soon, Charles appeared outside David's door.
"David, you wanted to see me?" Charles asked curiously, wondering what could compel the almost omnipotent godlike David to seek him out.
David said, "I want to ask you about someone."
After confirming that the sniper had left, David walked to the door, feeling the cold wind blowing through the glass gap, chilling his heart even more.
Charles, sensing the anger in David's voice, responded, "Tell me, David, if I know, I will definitely tell you."
David stated, "A man with a missing piece of his ear. He was just with a sniper, who took a shot at me."
Charles's pupils dilated.
"That's Aaron, a close confidant of another power leader nearby. His ear was partially frozen off, a very distinctive feature!"
