Chapitre 4058: Chapter 3166 "Romantic" Wedding Season (50)

"How are you here?"

The sensation of people who had just fallen asleep in the dream was similar to that of people who had just woken up in reality, both somewhat groggy and lingering at the threshold between dream and reality, which could be somewhat confusing.

"You'll have to ask them." Dream Power Doctor Strange pointed behind Shiller.

Shiller turned around and saw a group of people looking at him with hostility. They were the same people who had participated in the game during the day, with some observers who hadn't taken part standing behind them.

Shiller looked up helplessly and said, "Is it really necessary? It was just a game we lost during the day."

"That doesn't count for the day." Stark said, "What's the fun in those cards, too many limitations. We should get serious!"

Shiller wanted to say something, but Stark continued, "I heard from Eddie that your friend can create illusions indistinguishable from reality, and can weave any kind of illusion. Let's play another round right here!"

"Tony, give it a rest!" Shiller said impatiently, "It was just a board game, it's not like you lost any money..."

Stark's eyes shifted and he said, "How about this, I put up 10 million US dollars as a prize, winner takes all, how about that?"

As soon as he had spoken, his wrist was grabbed. Shiller dragged him into the crowd, saying, "I didn't get enough play during the day either, let's go."

After they walked over, the people were discussing. Wanda complained, "Jarvis and I tried to adjust the balance, but it didn't work, the limitations were still too great. So we thought, why not just play like this."

"What do you mean, just play?" Peter asked curiously.

"You see, this is a dream, whatever happens doesn't matter, right? Anyway, we'll forget all about it when we wake up tomorrow..."

Peter nodded.

"Then we can really let loose here." Wanda said excitedly, "How we fight here won't affect reality, so we can go for real."

"We can't do that." Peter said, "You think I'm stupid? I can't beat you."

"No, not that kind of real fighting, that would be just a drill. We're supposed to be playing a game now, and I think we can rely on our imaginations based on our real abilities."

Peter seemed to catch on and said, "So we just establish a basic set of rules, no card values or skills or anything, and just use our imagination to play?"

"Exactly."

"That's outrageous." Eddie interjected, "Can I say I'm the King of the Universe now?"

"Of course not." Wanda said, "First of all, you can't break the rules, and secondly, you can't be too outrageous, it has to be based on your real strength and identity."

"Who's going to judge what's acceptable?"

"Of course, the host." Wanda pulled Dream Power Doctor Strange over and said, "The whole dreamscape is his illusion, and since he knows each of us, he can judge what's acceptable."

Dream Power Doctor Strange was quite professional. He thought for a moment, nodded, and said, "No problem, as long as it doesn't exceed the limits of my illusion power and doesn't go against the most basic logic and common sense, it's acceptable."

"Can you really create that kind of scene?" Peter asked curiously.

Dream Power Doctor Strange nodded and asked, "What kind of game do you want to play?"

"Uh..."

Wanda hadn't decided yet, but Shiller had already dragged Stark over, who was clamoring, "Let's play that whatever-it-was, Helada Descends from this afternoon! I don't believe it!"

"You want to play Helada Descends again?" Wanda turned back to ask him.

"That's right, but that's not the main point. Stark looked at Shiller and said, "Whoever wants to fight better get ready."

Shiller spread his hands and said, "I don't mind, if you guys want to fight, I'll join in. If it really doesn't work out, I can move the Tower of Thought back..."

"That won't be necessary!" Peter quickly interjected, "I think the virtual dream is just fine, Doctor, no need to make such a fuss."

"That settles it then." Stark declared with a sweeping gesture, "We'll fight Helada first. I must avenge Pepper! Who wants in?"

The ones who participated during the day were eager to join, and the onlookers from the daytime were of course keen as well. After all, the board game didn't have their own decks, but this game of imagination had far fewer restrictions. Everyone had the same brain capacity, so who was worse than whom?

"Alright." Dream Power Doctor Strange nodded and said, "Now everyone tell me your identities and powers, the more precise and detailed the better. Tell me all the abilities you think might come in handy in the upcoming battle, of course, if you can't think of them now, you can ask me if you can use them later."

Standing at the back of the crowd, Loki held out his hand and asked, "Can any ability be used?"

"Yes, as long as you can think of it and it makes logical sense."

Loki appeared thoughtful, but Stark could hardly wait any longer. To avoid not being thorough enough, he asked Dream Power Doctor Strange for a piece of paper and began to write, clearly planning to list all his abilities.

The others followed suit, bustling about with their writing. Shiller was not as serious, scribbling a few lines before handing it over to Dream Power Doctor Strange.

Once everyone had submitted their papers, the curtain rose on this peculiar dream.

The scene began to change, the air became damp and cold, and the wind from afar brought a thick scent of blood. Screams and moans emerged as if hiding in the background, and that maddening whisper arose sporadically.

Matt was not blind in the dream, but his senses in this regard were still sharp, and he furrowed his brow deeply.

The ground underneath began to turn muddy. As Wanda attempted to lift her foot, she realized her boots were coated with sticky gray mud, and when she tried to lift her other foot, she found it was nearly sinking into the swamp.

"Back up! Back up!" the experienced Captain America immediately shouted, "Those who can fly, take off now! Then pull the others out!"

It was then that Wanda realized, the game had already started. She was the Scarlet Witch, she could certainly fly, but this was, after all, a dream, and she wasn't sure if her powers would come as easily.

She attempted to take flight using the power of Scarlet as she normally would, but she simply couldn't get off the ground.

"Doctor Strange! What's going on?!"

"I'm not a mind-reading worm in your stomach, let me know in advance what you want to do," said Dream Power Doctor Strange.

"I want to fly! Rise with the power of Scarlet!"

After saying this, Wanda immediately took to the air. She breathed a sigh of relief and quickly pulled several people around her out of the swamp. But carrying them this way wasn't a solution.

Stark immediately grasped the mechanics of this game and bellowed, "Mecha, arm up!"

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh—numerous pieces of mecha flew in from afar, assembling onto his body. Stark looked down, it was the Justice Enforcement!

He burst into loud laughter, then said, "Summon the armed flying platform!"

Once more, a heap of components combined in a peculiar way and spawned a platform. Stark looked at it with some disdain, remarking, "That's not my armed flying platform, its design couldn't possibly take flight..."

The next second, the freshly assembled flying platform crashed into the swamp.

The Scarlet Witch, who had just landed on it, fell face-first onto the platform. She yelled at Stark, "Can you please shut up!"

Stark replied with an awkward, "Alright, alright, I'll be quiet. Get me another armed platform, I'll pretend it can fly."

Another armed platform was put together, and this time Stark learned his lesson. He still seemed somewhat dissatisfied but didn't say much more. The Scarlet Witch rescued those who couldn't fly from below, and everyone stood together on the flying platform.

The swamp continued to spread, and around them, the dream space no longer had the white, dense fog, but was instead filled with a barely-there chill and billowing gray mist.

Suddenly, bubbles began to surface incessantly from the mire. Peter, leaning against the platform's railing and looking down, saw a head rise slowly.

"Ahh!!"

The head had almost completely rotted away, giving Peter quite a scare. Stark, thinking he was making a fuss over nothing, leaned over for a look and was startled as well.

This wasn't just some drawing on a card, but a horror scene more real than life itself. Not only was the image terrifying, the stench of decay was also incredibly palpable.

And more horrifying still, atop the endless swamp were countless floating, rotten heads—humans, birds, reptiles, and many monstrous creatures of indeterminable species—quietly surfacing from amidst the mire.

Suddenly, it was bright.

The light piercing through the clouds didn't come from the sun but a bright moonbeam. When the moonlight was too intense, it inevitably gave off a weird vibe. Everyone only saw a huge eye, dimly visible behind the thick clouds.

Panic and unease uncontrollably spread. Everyone internally hypnotized themselves that this was just a dream, but the scene was too realistic, making it hard for them to fool themselves.

Peter swallowed hard and asked, "Are we really going to fight this thing?"

"Of course!" Stark was always the toughest to admit defeat, he tapped the railing, drawing everyone's attention before saying, "It's fake anyway, and we all have our own powers, what's there to fear? Beat it up!"

"We can't be sure who's going to beat whom," Loki remarked with arms crossed, standing on the platform and focusing on the large figure in the distance. "We have to verbalize what we're going to do, but they don't, meaning we have much less reaction time than them. Are you sure you can beat it?"

"If you want to run away from a fight, that's your problem!" Stark retorted, then shouted into the sky, "Activate the Battle Armor, I'm going to give those heads a punch first!"

Loki watched Stark's figure thoughtfully.

She turned back to look at Shiller, who was leaning over the railing looking down, seemingly also intrigued by the floating heads.

In the real world, the moon also hung alone in the sky, illuminating the Stone House's smooth but slightly worn rooftop with its silvery glow.

A furry paw pushed open the rooftop door, and Rocket Raccoon, sitting on the roof's edge, turned to see Laira's head poking out from the rooftop, followed by her whole otter body hopping up onto the roof and sitting beside Rocket.

"What are you thinking about, Rocket?"

"Nothing much, if I have to say something, probably about the Andromeda Galaxy. I've got a feeling that 'Supreme Evolution' guy isn't that straightforward."

"Really? I find him to be an interesting human."

"You definitely haven't told us everything, right?"

"Well, yeah, but a lot of things don't need to be known too clearly, it's not related to you, isn't it?"

"No, although I don't consider myself a raccoon, I'm fond of Earth, not because it might be my home, but because my friends are here, and I really like them."

"But that's the Andromeda Galaxy."

"I just don't want them to worry about the Andromeda Galaxy's problems."

"Well, I can't see that they're troubled, they've been playing cards all day."

At this, Rocket Raccoon was at a loss for words.
