Chapitre 2485: Chapter 1727: Bruce Wayne and the Prisoner of the Batcave (Part 9) _1

"It's really strange, extremely strange."

In a laboratory that looked much like the Batcave, Harley, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Red Hood, and Red Robin grouped around a section of metal. Harley was repeating what the Scarlet Witch Wanda had said, who in turn was echoing what Stark had said.

"The data from the property tests are all over the place. You can see that some values are random numbers within a certain range, which might present in certain conductors under high-pressure environments, but is it popular in your universe to use superconductors as rebar?"

Red Robin, the only one among them who could understand these complex theoretical data, sighed lightly, "I realised this issue about half a month ago when we began to build this floating fortress."

"Back then, we just wanted to pick up some trash in the city, recycle the metals that had been destroyed and use them in some less critical components to save costs. After all, Batman was not around, and it wasn't appropriate for us to go directly into the Batcave to get his raw materials."

"Midtown is different from the Upper city area. The majority of buildings here are skyscrapers made of reinforced concrete structures. The most common metal would naturally be rebar. We collected quite a bit, intending to smelt it directly. But just to be safe, I sampled some for material testing."

"The data I got was shocking, but I thought the problem might lie with our equipment here. So I took the time to go back to the Batcave and tested it with the most professional machine there. Then I found that there was definitely something wrong with the metal. Just like you said, it displayed characteristics that the material should not have."

"I began to suspect whether it was an issue with the sampled material. So, we collected dozens of samples from five different locations in Midtown and the Lower city area of Gotham. Then, even weirder things happened. All their properties were different."

Stark froze in front of the screen. It wasn't because of what Red Robin had said. His tone rose, "Under such circumstances, you still smelted them and built the sky fort?! Oh my god! Weren't you afraid of material failure and falling to your death?"

"Failures are common, and science needs a spirit of adventure." Red Robin's tone did not fluctuate even slightly.

Stark's mouth hung open. He himself was a very adventurous scientist. Without an adventurous spirit, he would not have embedded a massive bomb in his chest. But the scientist's disregard for life and death still shocked him. What shocked him even more was that everyone present seemed to take this as normal.

"You... I mean, you dare to use it without figuring out its principle..."

"Can you figure out its principle?"

Stark was taken aback. He leaned closer, looking at the metal material analysis report shown on the screen in front of Harley, rubbing his chin, and after thinking for a while, a thought suddenly flashed across his mind.

"Have you considered the influence of magic?"

Everyone present was stunned. Stark told them through Harley, "The universe I'm in is currently developing technology in this area, the 'Enchanted Metal'."

"You're right. Material science is like taking chances, but the human race has been trying for so long and the chances are not really good, so why not simply make everything random? Even the most basic physical properties can be disregarded. Change all properties with magic and lock onto them when some valuable characteristics appear."

"It sounds quite magical." Red Robin commented.

Stark, staring at the scene on the screen with his arms crossed, said, "We are trying to use magic to create a type of superconductor, or you can call it an Omni-conductor. It can serve scientific energy and also be the manufacturing material for magic tools. Up to now, we've run about several hundred billion random numbers. The perfect material hasn't been developed yet, but some flawed failed products can be used in certain aspects."

"Among the properties of these random materials enchanted with magic, I saw some data similar to those in the rebar's material test report. If the basic physical rules of two universes are roughly the same, it means that this rebar could have possibly been affected by some mystical factors."

At this moment, Harley felt the piece of paper with the grey whirlpool in her pocket turning hot. She put her hand into her pocket and then felt the grey smoke writing on the back of her hand, "What he said is correct. Try infusing it with energy."

On another screen, Strange was frowning at the rebar and said, "I bet this metal has been refined with magic energy, and even now it's still under the influence of some sort of energy, thus having properties that normal metals don't possess. It's how these kids could build a floating fortress with it."

"I've told before that the metals in Gotham's buildings have some problems." Pamela's tone was matter-of-fact as if defending a thesis. She glanced at Shiller, indicating that they had discussed this issue before. Shiller nodded and extended one hand, indicating that Pamela could speak freely.

"If I'm not wrong, it might be a kind of dark power of unknown origin, but typically it radiates when forming certain structures."
