Chapitre 332: Chapter 213 Busy Autumn Days (Middle)_2

However, the offices of the gods do come in a hierarchy. For example, the current God King Odin holds the office of Thor, the God of Thunder, which is the highest office in the Asgardian godly position system. If Thor inherits the throne, he will also inherit the office of Thor.

At present, the not-yet-crowned Thor holds the office of the "God of Weather and Storm," while his brother Loki is the "God of Lies and Deception."

The main rule of the god offices is that the shorter the title, the more abstract its description, and the less specific its jurisdiction, the stronger it is.

The "God of Weather and Storms" is actually an auxiliary office under the Thor godly position system, while the "God of Lies and Deception" is an auxiliary office under the Fire God godly position system.

The god offices are not static. The transition of the god offices mainly occurs in two situations. One is when Odin hands the throne to Thor. Once Odin gives all his power to Thor, Thor will naturally inherit his position.

The other situation is like Loki's, who benefited from being under the wing of two powerful gods, gained power in the process, and as a result, his godly position was elevated.

Of course, Loki's easy promotion was not only due to the vacancy of the office of the Fire God for many years without any competitor, but also because Odin was quite satisfied with Loki's achievements and lent him a hand.

The main reason Loki deliberately lured Thor to come and rent a room from him was that Loki is now Thor's superior.

Asgard is a warrior race, and hence their political structure is more like an army with the higher-ranking gods as leaders and lower-ranking gods serving as soldiers.

Even within the same godly rank, the offices can differ in importance, with gods who govern natural forces usually being half a step higher than others. This is determined by the Asgardian race's characteristics.

So originally Thor's "God of Weather and Storms" held a higher position, half a step higher than Loki's "God of Lies and Deception." This was logical as Thor was the eldest son and the future Heir of Asgard.

This has always been the case in the Asgardian Royal Family; the position of the royal heir is half a step higher than others. After the heir has inherited the highest position, other princes may be promoted to the level of true gods.

So, the original path should have been that after Thor became Thor, Loki would become the Fire God, yet the Fire God is still half a step lower than Thor.

But the current situation is that Thor, because he angered Odin, was demoted and missed the previous incident involving Nal. On the contrary, Loki, who was built up by Odin, has already reached the level of a true god.

Odin, seeing Strange and The Ancient One getting along so well, thought about his own son and in a fit of anger, disregarded Asgard's traditions and directly promoted Loki to the rank of the Fire God.

The first thing Loki did after receiving the office of the Fire God was of course to agitate Thor, who was nearly driven mad by him.

Thor is a very traditional Asgardian god. He firmly believes in the system of Asgardian promotion and godly position advancement. He refers to himself as the "bravest warrior of Asgard" because his office is the highest among his peers.

He believed that his position was earned through his bravery in battle and that he deserved the title of Heir of Asgard, with no one in his generation likely to surpass him.

But now, a harsh reality confronts him. Loki, the weakest among them in battle, a mage who was pitifully weak in Asgard, had become a true god ahead of him.

He became the first true god among his generation.

The difference between a true god and an auxiliary god is vast. Asgard's political system is more like a military system, which gives the superior power to subordinate the lower ranks. If you disobey your superior, you risk being banished by Heimdall.

Now, Loki, who could only stand at the back during battles, has become the superior of Thor, who used to bravely fight on the front lines. Thor absolutely cannot accept this.

Loki saw Thor's complexion turn red outside the door and his veins pop out on his neck. He leaned against the door frame and asked Thor in a light-hearted tone: "What's wrong? You want to beat me up? Like you used to after I tricked you?"

"But sadly, you can't..." Loki looked into Thor's eyes. His gaze turned cold and he said, "Now, you have no divine power, no weapons, and most importantly, you do not have the right. I am no longer your subordinate…"

Thor gritted his teeth and spat out a few words: "The Father of All Gods is unfair..."

Loki's eyes grew colder, and the smile began to fade from his face. Rune circles in the Asgardian script sparkled around his body, the symbol of a true god. He told Thor, "You really are an idiot; even if you could understand a single word from the Father of All Gods, you wouldn't have a chance to mock me here."

He stepped aside and gestured for Thor to enter, then said:

"Want to see where I live? A high-end apartment in the wealthy district of Manhattan. What about you? Some dump in a slum somewhere?"

"You're not only a failed god, but you're also a failed human."

"This is you, Thor. Your so-called bravery comes from the physical strength the Father of All Gods gave you. The honor that you believe in is nothing more than sympathy and pity given to you when people praise God King Odin..."

"All that you pride yourself on comes from the Father of All Gods' favoritism towards you. And once you disappoint him, once you no longer have such privileges, you are nothing."

In the shadow under Loki's eyebrows, his eyes grew even more somber. He looked at Thor and said, "Admit it, from beginning to end, you are a failure, big brother."

He bit down hard on the last word, then closed the door with a "bang".

Loki turned around and went back. After taking a few steps, he stopped next to the entrance. The sunlight from the opposite floor-to-ceiling windows shone into the room but did not touch him. Loki's Adam's apple trembled violently; he was shivering all over.

After a few seconds, he exhaled a breath, then put one hand against the wall and slowly clenched it into a fist.

For some reason, he now really wanted to see Frigga. He wanted to see his mother. He wanted to return to the bedroom he once thought was bland and boring.

Suddenly, he heard a knock at the door behind him. The sound of "knock, knock" echoed in the room. Loki couldn't believe it when he looked back. He heard Thor's muffled voice from outside the door: "Open the door! I want to rent a room!"
