Chapitre 2: Shin Jin Ae

Incheon Metropolitan Police Department

Narcotics and Special Investigations Division

"Why would they recruit here to assist them when Seoul has more competent police?"

"Do you not hear them? a competent and experienced police officer for the situation. If they took Jin Ae along, I would buy into it considerably more."

"What are you talking about?" curiously asked Jin Ae

"The National Police Investigation is searching for assistance they took an option to employ a support staff member in a case of drug trafficking at this point." Ho Joon said

"So we thought you were the one who could help them." Ha Ung said

"Why would I help them?" Jin Ae said and smirked

Korea National Police Agency

Criminal Affairs Bureau

"It was nice to meet you, Officer Jin Ae. I've heard that in less than a year, you were able to resolve 75% of narcotics and criminal cases in Incheon?" Commissioner General Dong Hong said and smiled.

"I'm just doing my job properly sir." Jin Ae humbly answered and smile

"You know? I like you. An unassuming police officer, that's why you were chosen." Declared the Commissioner General, who laughed taunting Jin Ae and clutched his belly.

Jin Ae merely slightly bowed her head and grinned. Suddenly someone knocked at the door and opened, when Jin Ae turns to face the door she notices Joon Woo peeking through and walks in. Joon Woo stood next to Jin Ae and greeted the Commissioner general by bowing then he faced Jin Ae.

"Sorry to interrupt you sir, but isn't this case dangerous for a policewoman?" Joon Woo worriedly asked.

The Commissioner General turned to face him, and the smile wiped from his face.

"Haven't you heard Detective Chung Joon Woo? This officer from Incheon has solved 75% of narcotics and criminal cases for only a year. Since she does her duties effectively despite being a woman, other police officers should take note of this." Commissioner General Dong Hong said

"But-- Sir, there are many other policeman who are better than her in other districts Sir." Joon Woo reasoning said

"If there are others? why was she chosen to send here?" Commissioner's general cynically asked.

Joon Woo couldn't help but frown at Jin Ae. When he turned to face Jin Ae, the latter was staring at him with a sardonic smirk.

Ever since they were students at the Korean National Police University (KNPU), Joon Woo and Jin Ae have been friends. Due to the loss of her father, Jin Ae went home to Incheon after receiving her degree from KNPU. She made a choice to keep living in Incheon permanently, working at the Narcotics and Special Investigations District, where she rose to becoming one of the most prominent detectives in the division.

Since she was a little child, she had dreamed about becoming a police officer due his father is a drug addict. Although she couldn't manage to stop his father, she was aware that she could track down and capture drug traffickers to curb crime and stop them from providing illicit drugs to her father.

In order to lower the number of drug abusers in that area, she has therefore done an excellent job of apprehending drug users and dealers in the neighborhood since entering the police force.

After their conversation, Joon Woo left the office immediately followed by Jin Ae. Joon Woo halted walking and confronted Jin Ae, looking dissatisfied. Jin Ae ceased walking as well because of this; she was taken aback by Joon Woo's demeanor and her eyes widened.

"Why did you accept the Job?" Joon Woo asked with a serious face.

"Why not? this is a big opportunity for me. Why do you care anyway?" Irritatingly said Jin Ae

"Don't you know how big this operation? It's not like the drug addicts in your corner, we're talking about a drug lord here." frowning and worriedly said Joon Woo

"What's the difference between drug lords and drug user's? same thing, same thing about drugs." Jin Ae rudely answered.

Jin Ae walked first but Joon Woo grabbed her arm and stopped her from walking.

"Okay, I can't stop you if that's what you want, but there's only one thing I ask for you, please take care of yourself." frustrated and worriedly said Joon Woo

And released Jin Ae's hand, letting Jin Ae to continue on walking. Joon Woo remains concerned about his old friend since they are going after not just small-time crooks but also an enormous and powerful criminal in their nation. It's not because he doubts that Jin Ae is capable of doing duties because he already knows that Jin Ae is an excellent police officer; rather, it's that he fears the worst may happen to Jin Ae.
