"This better be worth it…"
Lady Victoria walked through the quiet village, the cobblestone streets echoed with her footsteps.
As she approached the shabby house at the end of the lane, she could hear yelling and shouting already piercing the air.
She raised his hand to knock on the door, but before her knuckles could make contact, the door swung open with a loud creak.
Inside, she saw a man towering over a small girl with long wavy pink hair and faded blueish eyes.
The girl was huddled in a corner, her tiny frame shaking with fear. Bruises covered her delicate skin, and tears streamed down her dirt-streaked cheeks.
The man raised his hand to strike the girl again, but Victoria stepped forward, "Stop this at once!" She commanded with a raised tone.
The man turned towards Victoria, his face contorted with rage. "Who are you to interfere in my business in my own home?" he spat.
