The vampire directed a couple of them with Aurelius to the backdoor. The vicinity around it seemed so abandoned and the seemed to be no one. The door was opened slowly producing a creaking sound.

There were guards patrolling that area lazily but with Jetty's illusion magic , it seemed the group was invisible. They were able to easily enter downstairs. The moment they started descending downstairs , a horrible stench of blood and feces assaulted Aurelius.

Once they finally reached the basement Aurelius' eyes turned sombre at the sight.

Some children were already rotting due to death by starvation , Those alive were barely holding on due to starvation . They were mostly asleep probably the body's mechanism trying to save as much energy .

Blood came from the far end behind a door. Aurelius shuddered to imagine what happened behind those closed doors.
