The next day, after being discharged from the hospital, the group put an end to their vacation and flew back home.

By the time they arrived back in Ludus, the sky had already darkened, casting long shadows over the tarmac. It had been a very long weekend for each of them, and the exhaustion was written all over them as they came down from the plane.

Approaching the airport terminal, Melvin, Kimberly, Stefan and Ruby were the first to leave since Melvin's driver was waiting, and Nathan couldn't leave with them them because his family had insisted on picking him up, so Star remained with him.

Almost as soon as Melvin and the others left, Nathan caught sight of his parents and younger sister looking around for him.

"My parents and sister are over there," Nathan whispered to Star, whose heartbeat skipped a beat as she directed her gaze to the direction Nathan was looking.
