She was at the beginning of the staircase when she heard someone running behind her. Just in case it was Kevin, she took the stairs two at a time and then dashed towards the workshop's door. She was about to head out when he passed by her and blocked her way.
"Alonso!"
She threw herself at her husband and inhaled his perfume into her lungs, his arms that wrapped around her felt as cold as she was feeling on the inside.
"Can you believe him?" She let him go and looked up at his pale face. "Kevin and I grew up practically joined at the hip. He was the only person in my life who never hurt me. He was closer to me than my own uncle! I trusted Kevin as much as I trust you, Alonso!"
Sighing with a frustration that seemed to match hers, Alonso placed two cold hands on Natalie's shoulders, the expression on his face was as dark as the one she saw on him that day when his father disappeared leaving behind that note.
