It was dinner time at the mansion that day. Everyone had taken their seats around the table but Liliana's chair was conspicuously empty. Oddly, neither Alonso nor his father made any mention of it.
"Landing that deal today will open up the door to a far wider range of customers from different regions," Alejandro excitedly shared his accomplishments with Alonso Senior who appeared uninterested as usual. "I am thinking about introducing them to you once you find yourself up to some company, father."
The president nodded half-heartedly while chewing his bite, and Natalie tried not to frown as she observed Alejandro's overly giddy behavior which was both untimely and uncharacteristic.
"Big monetary gains like that make working worthwhile," Alejandro's face relaxed with glee. "I was looking forward to making you proud."
