Chapitre 309: That Judgmental Prick

Calix could barely sleep that night. Lying on the bed, he quietly watched Leslie and Calliope sleeping. Their soft yet steady breathing echoed vaguely in the bedroom.

Once again the three of them slept in Leslie's chamber.

The clock's needles pointed to a quarter past one in the morning. The entire manor was blanketed by a tranquil silence. Only the bodyguards on duty were still awake at this time.

"Humph! Don't take... Poppy's cake..."

All of a sudden, Calliope talked in her sleep, seemingly to argue with someone in her dream. She smacked her lips and turned to one side, kicking the blanket off her small body. She pressed her little face on the toy Mimo.

Helplessness overtook Calix as faint chuckles slipped out of his mouth. Shaking his head, he reached out for the blanket, intending to cover Calliope again.

"...yummy... strawberry cake..."
