Chapitre 50: Legacy and Chaos (1)

Rasoul knew that their arrival at the gathering would cause quite a stir, and that was exactly what he wanted. He planned to leave a lasting impression on everyone there, hailing from different kingdoms within the empire.

As they moved towards the gathering, more and more eyes focused on them. Upon reaching the venue, Rasoul pulled out three classy chairs from his system inventory, and the trio settled into them. Lara leaned in, resting her head on Rasoul's shoulder—a move that sent clear signals to the ladies who had their eyes on him.

Rasoul didn't mind; he got Lara's intention and appreciated it. It's one thing to be noticed and another to be looked at with not-so-innocent intentions. He understood that Lara's gesture was a subtle way to discourage those ladies with such intentions.

Five minutes after taking their seats, seven individuals approached them. All were semi-saints, but a quick mind's eye scan reassured Rasoul that they posed no threat to him and his companions.

One of them piped up, "Hey there, I'm Lady Eleanor Valorblade, the big shot in the Valorblade family known for bravery and strength. These are the other heirs from the six families in our crew, all the way from the Porter Kingdom. We've heard awesome things about your gang, 'Supreme Nexus,' and we're thinking, let's team up! We've got a pile of gold that can keep the three of you living the high life for years. Plus, you'll be buds with our Seven Great Families."

Rasoul, Lara, and Sabrat eyeballed Lady Eleanor while she kept on talking. They figured this was their shot to shake things up and take on the big shots from the Porter Kingdom. So, they patiently let Lady Eleanor wrap up her speech.

Rasoul was dead set on grabbing the power these big families had in the human empire before they bounced. His dislike for these so-called Great families went way deeper than anyone could guess.

After her talk, Lady Eleanor popped the question, "So, what's the verdict on our offer?"

Rasoul took a moment to observe her before responding, "No, we won't be allying with you. Apologies for taking up your time, but aligning with you isn't in our plans."

His answer didn't sit well with the heirs, prompting one of them to speak out, "Why not? Do you have any idea about the benefits you'd gain by joining forces with us? We are the Seven Great Families. The fact that we've come here to invite you should be seen as a significant gesture. Show some respect." The speaker, a somewhat muscular man with a distinctive tattoo on one side of his face, wasn't particularly handsome. He seemed more brawn than brain and chose an arrogant approach instead of a polite one.

"A 'no' means 'no,' so why don't you all skedaddle back to where you came from? As you can see, we're taking a break after a long day's work," Sabrat, in his typical nonchalant manner, spoke.

"How dare you disrespect the heirs of the mighty great families. Are you courting death?" Another heir spoke with anger evident on his face. Sabrat's comments and demeanor were a grave insult to their pride as heirs of the Seven Great Families.

Sabrat, true to form, wouldn't miss an opportunity to provoke them. He retorted, "Duh, do I look like someone eager to die? I'm still too young and handsome to kick the bucket. I've got some ladies waiting for me to make them happy. This Daddy isn't checking out anytime soon."

"We turned down your offer primarily because your family doesn't meet our standards. No great family in these empires is worthy of having us as allies."

He deliberately raised his voice a bit for everyone to hear. His statement, however, conveyed the intended message, as most heirs from different kingdoms began seething with anger.

"Surround them. They don't respect our family, so let's show them what happens to those who disrespect us," Eleanor commanded in an authoritative and irate tone.

Eight additional semi-saints promptly encircled Rasoul's team. However, they remained seated, displaying no signs of panic.

"Get down on the floor and apologize. Maybe then we'll consider sparing your lives," Eleanor declared with authority.

"And if we refuse?" Rasoul countered.

"Then we'll kill both of you and take the lady as a trophy," replied the man with the face tattoo. However, his comment brought a faint smile to Rasoul's face.

Rasoul calmly rose and initiated his monologue, "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you're overestimating your abilities here. Do you truly believe that someone from an insignificant family can pressure me and my friends into submission? A mere feeble semi-saint like yourself shouldn't be considered an heir to any family. It seems your families were short on options, resorting to sticking with weaklings. But fear not; I'll demonstrate what real strength looks like.

"Before we delve into your punishments, let me clarify two things for all of you."

Rasoul turned to address the crowd and continued, "Supreme Nexus isn't a group of weaklings like you. We earned our way into this tomb, unlike individuals like you who had to rely on your families for this opportunity. So, before you get too bold, remember you're here because of Daddy's help.

"Secondly, whatever lies behind that door will be ours. Instead of waiting for the gate to open and trying to claim something that will never be yours, consider searching for any leftover items inside the tomb."

His statement, naturally, didn't sit well with them. Rasoul could sense the killing intent directed towards him from almost everyone. He brushed it off and turned his attention to the Portor heirs.

Shifting his focus to the heirs and their companions, Rasoul released a dense, stifling aura that radiated from his body. The overwhelming force brought all 15 semi-saints to their knees, beads of sweat streaming down their faces. Onlookers couldn't help but shudder at the chilling sensation running down their spines.

Rasoul activated the 'God of War Aura' for the third time. The aura's intense killing intent caused some to lose consciousness instantly. Following his battle with the Great Beast and the Saint, both his aura and the God of War's aura strength had soared.

Acknowledging the difficulty of infiltrating the minds of semi-saints, he simultaneously employed his mental illusion abilities when releasing the aura. This tactic strained their mental fortitude further, enabling Rasoul to introduce intrusive thoughts that generated mental chaos and distraction in the minds of the heirs and their companions. Stoically, Rasoul waited until the last person succumbed before imprinting them with the slave seal.

It took him no more than 10 minutes to completely subdue the heirs. After the tense confrontation with the heirs from the Porter Kingdom, Rasoul, Lara, and Sabrat moved to a different location and promptly set up camp. Having exerted his mental capacity to the fullest, Rasoul started feeling disoriented. Concerned, he turned to the system.

'System, what's happening?'

[You've expanded your mental capacity beyond its normal strength; as a result, your brain is shutting down.]

'That's a good thing, right? Is it shutting down to allow for healing?'

[No. If your brain completely shuts down, you'll lose your ability to function as a person.]

'Please tell me you have a way to save me,' Rasoul asked in a panicked voice.

[I can induce a coma for a day or two, and then I'll work on healing your brain.]

'Do it,' Rasoul said to the system without hesitation. He then informed Lara and Sabrat that he'd be taking a nap for a day or two. They didn't question him, as they could see he looked a bit pale.

After Rasoul demonstrated his dominance, many grew wary of him and his team. Most anticipated retaliation from the heirs of the Porter Kingdom, but to their surprise, there was no vengeful gleam in their eyes. The heirs simply packed their belongings and relocated to the rear of the gathering.

The Fairies and the heir held another meeting after the unfolding events.

"I think we shouldn't provoke them unless they initiate an attack. They are more formidable than we anticipated," Livia, the fairy leader, said. The level of agitation suggested that Rasoul's actions defied all logic; he took down 15 semi-saints while still in the Mid Grandmaster stage.

"We really need to be cautious around them. The semi-saints with him didn't even react; who knows what they are capable of," Seraphina added.

"Our focus right now should be on how to secure that legacy. If what the family heads said is true, we'll have more than enough strength to face them if they decide to come after us after winning the legacy," Genevieve Binoto spoke. She is the fairy adopted into the Binoto family and possesses the most captivating beauty among the seven Fairies.

"Let's keep our distance from them for now," Livia concluded as the meeting came to an end.

Rasoul awoke on the second day, and the system warned him not to use any mental abilities for at least a week or two. As he gazed at his friends, a sense of joy filled his heart. He contemplated telling them about the potential arrival of stronger enemies—The Dark Order, the Dark Ones. However, after some thought, he decided to hold off for now since they were still in uncharted territory.

He then retrieved some steam bread, but just as he was about to take a bite, the environment around them shifted. An otherworldly figure descended from the sky, emanating strong and sinister energy, hinting at extreme danger. Rasoul immediately felt a gaze fixed on him, and a familiar voice penetrated his mind.

'You're finally here.'

Confused, Rasoul attempted to reply but couldn't establish a connection with the figure. He had questions, but before he could make sense of things, the voice spoke in his mind again.

'Don't be scared, Supreme one. It will be over soon. If you pass the test, all your questions will be answered. Right now, focus on how you'll pass my test.' The voice had a calm but sinister tone.

Then, the voice spoke out loud, saying, "Welcome, I am Nino, or as many call me, the Deity of War. This is the tomb I left behind before ascending. This place is where I stored all my valuables before ascending. It holds enough knowledge to aid you throughout your cultivation journey. However, that is not the reason why I am here in my ethereal form.

"As you may have guessed, there is indeed a treasure behind that door. It's my legacy and contains valuables beyond human comprehension," he said in a prideful tone.

"But to reach it, you'll have to pass through three doors," Nino added in a sinister tone.
