Chapitre 67: Lakshyagriha

The crackling of the flames filled the night air as the Lakshyagriha blazed with a ferocious intensity. Purochan and his cohorts watched from a safe distance, their eyes reflecting the malicious satisfaction of a mission accomplished.

The deafening roar of the fire drowned out the distant cries of chaos and confusion, engulfing the palace in a relentless inferno.

As the inferno raged on, the intricate walls of the palace twisted and contorted under the intense heat, threatening to collapse at any moment. Purochan and his aides remained vigilant, prepared to prevent any unforeseen interference that might jeopardize the success of their ruthless endeavor.

The sounds of pandemonium echoed through the night, drawing the attention of the nearby residents and city guards who rushed to contain the blaze. Despite their valiant efforts, the fire continued to rage uncontrollably, devouring the Lakshyagriha and all within its fiery grasp.

By the time when Bhisma reached Varnavrat in the morning, the whole palace was already reduced to ashes. The only thing he managed to salvage were five pair of weapons used by the Pandavs whereas their own body was burnt down to ashes, without leaving behind any trace.

"Aaaaarrrggghhhhh! "

Bhishma cried in agony as he mourned the death of his grandsons, the Pandavs and his daughter in law Kunti.

But unbeknownst to him, hundreds of kilometres away from Varnavrat, on the foot of a mountains located in the outskirts of Kuru kingdom, a hole was suddenly blasted out on the ground.

* boom *

Following that, six dishelved figures walked out of the hole one by one. They were none other than Pandavs and their mother Kunti.

"Looks like we're finally out. Oh, how I miss this fresh air!"

Nakul sighed in relief.

"Yes Nakul, you're right. If uncle Vidhur had not informed us about Duryodhan's conspiracy in advance then we would really be done for. "

Sahadev said solemnly.

"Thanks to that , instead of really eating the poisoned food, we just pretended to eat it and acted to fall unconscious. As soon as Purochan and his accomplices left the palace and set it on fire, Arjun used his Bhaumastra to create an underground tunnel for us to escape that place of right and wrong. "

Yudhishthir said with a smile.

Bheem who was standing on the side couldn't help but voice his doubts at this time.

"But big brother, I still don't understand why instead of directly using Varunastra to extinguish the flame, we faked our deaths and escaped underground. It's not like we are afraid of Duryodhan and his brothers. We are more than capable of defeating him. And after we expose this conspiracy of his, he should be punished heavily too. "

Other Pandavs also looked at Yudhishthir for answers, obviously having the same doubts in their hearts. But before Yudhishthir could say something, Kunti took lead to speak.

"It was my order. I was the one who asked Yudhishthir to do this. "

Kunti said with a sad face.

"Mother? But why did you do this? "

Bheem asked confused.

"Because Bheem, there is no longer any place for us in Hastinapur. That is no longer our home. "

Kunti said emotionally as a few tears trickled down her cheeks.

"But mother, big brother Yudhishthir is Hastinapur's crown prince and the next king. How can you say this? "

Sahadev retorted unconvinced.

"No my son, a place that is full of hatred and jealousy for us is no longer worthy of being called our home. And I don't want my sons to live in such a place where they always have to watch their own back lest their so called brothers stab them in the back. " Kunti said while looking at the five brothers lovingly before continuously again, "And besides, the reason why we came to Hastinapur was because we wanted to experience familial love after the death of your father. We never came for any rights or power at all. So now, we have no reason to go back there. "

Hearing this, the Pandavs calmed down their raging anger before a smile appeared on all of their faces simultaneously.

"You're right mother. We understand your feelings and we will stand by your decision. We don't need the throne or any power. All we need is each other's support and love," Yudhishthir affirmed, his voice resonating with determination and loyalty.

The five brothers huddled around their mother, embracing her in a warm and reassuring gesture, silently conveying their unwavering unity and commitment to their family.

Kunti, touched by the unwavering support of her sons, wiped away her tears, a faint smile gracing her lips as she gazed at each of them with maternal pride and affection.

"Let's leave this place behind and find a new home, a place where we can live in peace and harmony, away from the treacherous designs of Hastinapur," Kunti suggested, her voice carrying a sense of resolve and hope for a brighter future.

With a shared sense of purpose, the Pandavas set out on their journey, leaving behind the ashes of the past and embracing the uncertainty of the path ahead. Hand in hand, they ventured forth into the wilderness, determined to carve out a destiny that would be guided by their own principles of righteousness and camaraderie.

Meanwhile back in Hastinapur, Duryodhan and Shakuni started to rejoice over their victory.

With the news of the supposed demise of the Pandavas spreading throughout Hastinapur, the courtiers and residents were filled with a mix of shock and grief. Bhishma, still mourning the loss of his beloved grandchildren, struggled to come to terms with the tragic turn of events.

Duryodhan and Shakuni, filled with a sense of triumph, celebrated their perceived success in eliminating the Pandavas and their mother, believing that their obstacles to the throne had been effectively eradicated. Their jubilation echoed through the corridors of the palace, reverberating with the sinister undercurrent of their devious schemes.

"Uncle Shakuni, your conspiracy has succeeded. Now I, your beloved nephew Duryodhan will become the next crown prince of Hastinapur. Hahaha hahaha. "

Duryodhan said while drinking wine.

"Of course my nephew Duryodhan, you will become the future king of Hastinapur. No one can stop you now. But..... "

Shakuni said cunningly.

"But what Uncle Shakuni? "

Duryodhan asked in confusion.

Shakuni took a sip of wine before he said thoughtfully.

"What happened to that Takshak whom you sent to deal with Udra naresh Aryan Bahubali? "

"Huh? Are you worried about this? Don't worry Uncle Shakuni. Takshak is already on his way and he will take action on the decided time, that is, on the New moon night tomorrow. "

Duryodhan said carelessly.

"Are you sure about this Duryodhan? I personally suggest you reconsider your decision. Because if Takshak gails to kill him and Aryan Bahubali finds out that you're the one who is behind all this, then you will be making a very powerful enemy out of him. "

Shakuni said cautiously.

But Duryodhan said dismissively,

"Oh come on Uncle Shakuni, don't think so pessimistically. And even if he does become our enemy, can he attack Hastinapur just because of that? Don't forget, Kuru kingdom is one of the strongest kingdoms of Aryavrat. "
