Chapitre 24: Dushasan Vs Sahadev

"Did you see that, Udra Naresh, how my nephew Duryodhan easily defeated prince Nakul? "

Shakuni said gloatingly.

"You're right Gandhar Naresh, Nakul was indeed no match for him. "

Aryan also acknowledged his words.

In fact, in Mahabharat era, unlike other fantasy novels that he used to read in his past life, swords are not considered that impressive of a weapon.

And for that matter, even mace, axe and spear are considered inferior to a bow. The reason behind all this is very simple.

The strength of the other weapons depend heavily on the skill and attributes of their weilder.

But bow on the other hand, aside from skill, it's strength mainly depends on the Astras owned by the archer.

But of course, if you have godly attributes or divine weapons then not only can you counter an archer but also defeat him.

The best examples are Krishna having an unstoppable divine weapon like Sudarshan Chakra, Balram with his overpowered godly attributes, and of course Aryan himself can also be counted among these outliers since his spear is not any ordinary spear but a divine spear.

Not only Moksha is a divine weapon, in fact, the abilities Disaster and Sunshine alone are enough to make Aryan an outlier to the rule that other fighters are inferior to archers.

Focusing back on the stage, a few other Kauravs fought each other but their fights were very dull. Most of the times, the opponents simply surrendered on their own.

In just half an hour, more than half of the Kauravs have been eliminated.

It was only in round 3 that an interesting match up appeared.

"Next battle is between Prince Dushasan vs Prince Sahadev. "

The crowd's attention was drawn to the announcement of the next battle, which piqued their interest. Dushasan, one of Duryodhan's loyal brothers, and Sahadev, the youngest of the Pandavas, prepared to face off in the arena.

Dushasan, much like his brother Duryodhan, possessed remarkable physical attributes. His strength and physique were impressive, and he carried himself with confidence as he entered the battleground. He wielded a formidable mace similar to Duryodhan's, suggesting a focus on strength-based combat.

Sahadev, in contrast, was known for his wisdom and intelligence among the Pandavas. However, he had also undergone martial training, mastering the use of various weapons, majoring in axe.

While not as physically imposing as Dushasan, Sahadev compensated with agility and strategy.

As the two princes took their positions on opposite sides of the arena, there was a sense of anticipation in the air. The audience was curious to see how the battle would unfold, especially with the differing styles and attributes of the combatants.

The horn sounded, marking the beginning of the battle. Dushasan wasted no time, charging forward with his mace raised high, ready to strike. His approach was straightforward, relying on his superior strength to overpower his opponent.

Sahadev, however, was quick to react. He skillfully evaded Dushasan's initial assault, using his agility to stay out of the mace's reach. Instead of engaging in a direct confrontation, Sahadev opted for a hit-and-run strategy.

He brandished his axe with precision, making calculated strikes at Dushasan's legs and hands to trip him or disarm him.

Sahadev's strategy relied on exploiting Dushasan's lack of agility. While Dushasan possessed immense strength and a powerful mace, his movements were relatively slower compared to Sahadev's quick and calculated strikes.

Dushasan, frustrated by Sahadev's nimbleness and his inability to land a significant blow, roared in anger and swung his mace with all his might. The sheer force behind the swing created a shockwave that reverberated through the arena. It was a devastating attack, but Sahadev managed to evade it just in time, narrowly avoiding certain defeat.

The audience watched in amazement as Sahadev continued his agile and strategic assault. He circled Dushasan, staying just out of reach of the mace's deadly swing. With each pass, he aimed precise strikes at vulnerable spots, attempting to weaken his opponent over time.

Dushasan, growing increasingly frustrated, attempted to predict Sahadev's movements and land a crushing blow. However, Sahadev's agility and strategy kept him one step ahead. He used the arena's circular layout to his advantage, ensuring there was no corner for Dushasan to trap him in.

As the battle raged on, it became evident that Sahadev's tactics were wearing down Dushasan. The powerful prince, accustomed to overpowering his opponents with sheer strength, found himself struggling against an opponent who refused to engage in direct combat.

Sahadev, with his keen intelligence, sensed that Dushasan was becoming fatigued. He continued his calculated strikes, aiming for Dushasan's arms and legs to further weaken his opponent's resolve. Dushasan's mace strikes became less precise, and his movements slowed.

The crowd watched with bated breath, witnessing a battle of wits and strategy unfold before them. Sahadev, the youngest Pandava, demonstrated that intelligence and agility could prevail over brute strength. Dushasan, though powerful, was unable to adapt to Sahadev's relentless assault.

Finally, after a series of well-placed strikes, Sahadev disarmed Dushasan, sending the mace clattering across the arena floor.

* clank * * clank *

But still, Dushasan didn't give up and fought Sahadev empty handed. Unfortunately, he was pushed to the corner within a few minutes.

Dushasan immediately became irritated at his impending defeat. He couldn't accept this humiliation.

But just then, he noticed Shakuni out of the corner of his eyes who was lipsing something to him and a smile finally appeared on his face.

Turning to face Sahadev, Dushasan raised his hands above his head as if to admit defeat. But just when Sahadev lowered his guard, Dushasan took a stride and tightly hugged Sahadev.

Following that, he voluntarily jumped outside the ring along with Sahadev.

The sudden turn of events left the audience in bewilderment. Dushasan, seemingly on the brink of defeat, had embraced Sahadev and jumped out of the arena, taking himself and Sahadev out of the battle.

The crowd fell into a momentary silence, trying to make sense of what had just occurred. Aryan, too, was intrigued by the unexpected turn of events. He leaned forward, his curiosity piqued by the unusual strategy employed by Dushasan. It was evident that this was not a conventional battle tactic.

"Your tactics are really very 'unique' Gandhar naresh. But I guess as long as they work, they are good, right? "

Aryan teased Shakuni, since unlike others he had noticed the small exchange between Shakuni and Dushasan. Aryan couldn't help but appreciate the craftiness of Shakuni, who had orchestrated the situation to his advantage.

"You're joking with me Udra naresh, it's my dear nephew Dushasan's tactic. You're giving credit to the wrong person . But I will still accept it on behalf of my dear nephew. Hehehe. "

Shakuni smiled innocently as he pretended to not know anything.

In the arena, Sahadev stood with a puzzled expression, not fully comprehending what had just transpired. He looked towards the royal seating area. Guru Dronacharya, who had been officiating the match, stepped forward and raised his hand to declare the result.

"Since both the contestants have fallen out of the arena, they are both disqualified from the tournament. "

The horn sounded, signaling the end of the match and Sahadev helplessly returned to the tent where the defeated one were sitting and sat besides Nakul.

But it was only a small episode and the tournament continued with more battles

Until...

"Duryodhan Vs Bheem! "
