The next morning, we rose before sunrise, preparing for the day ahead.
I emptied my second backpack, which was two-thirds full, into the treasure chamber, keeping only some provisions and the four emergency backpacks.
I set aside my first main backpack, filled to the brim; there wouldn't be enough room in the treasure chamber for it.
Although the treasure chamber occupied the entire basement of the castle, it was already half-filled with the two-thirds of a full backpack.
After that, I checked my status and was surprised.

"That's not bad at all, but most of my things are designated as 'special things,'" I smiled as I looked at the half-filled room.
But I hoped that the treasure chamber's capacity would increase with the castle's levels.
The special monsters seemed to be highly sought resources of the system.
"A Demigod Dragon head...," I read, "Then it really was some kind of god," I realized with surprise. "The gold is probably my entire adventurer's salary... that's left."
It was strange that Mithril, Adamantite, and similar materials were not separately listed and were categorized as special.
"Doesn't matter," I decided, putting the now-empty backpack over my shoulders. I went to the crystal and opened the kingdom system.

I amusedly looked at the requirements and was pleased that I could easily fulfill them.
"Can we?" I heard Mia ask. I turned around and saw her sticking her head through the door. She looked expectant, and I smiled back. "Yes, I just finished! Let's go!"
We left the castle, and I scanned the entire island with my magic for dangerous monsters. They posed no threat to me, but there were some ogres and trolls in the forest around the mountain, and no one wants Monster in their back yard.
"All right," I said, "the plan is that I throw the monsters half-dead into a hole, and then you finish them off. You could also heal me the whole time, but that would be... well... too slow and boring!"
She nodded anxiously.
I ran off, struck a large hole in a clearing, and got to work.
In this world, experience points (EXP) were evenly distributed among all participants in the fight. Therefore, there was no disadvantage in groups, such as in adventurer groups. Furthermore you can earn EXP in other ways, like using Skills successfully, but this is much slower.
After about an hour, the hole was filled with green and turquoise creatures.
Among the ogres and trolls, some goblins had also hidden. However, these seemed to be mere subjects. I was very surprised because normally there are no such weak monsters in the land of monsters.
"All lie before you now with a broken neck," I grinned at Mia as the hole filled up. "It's not much, but that's all I could find on the island."
Mia nodded nervously; "And now? How do I deal with them?"
"Burn them," I said monotonously.
"I... what?"
"Burn them," I repeated.
I handed her a Cerberus Mana stone. "Here, you can create fire with this!"
I saw Mia resolutely take the stone in her hand but also noticed that her hand was slightly trembling.
"Just let a little mana flow into the stone."
"Okay!... like this?" she asked as a stream of fire left the stone.
"Wow! Not on me!" I laughed and stepped to the side. "Exactly like that, but please aim it at them!" I pointed to the monsters.
Mia changed the direction of the stream and burned the monsters. In the end, only hundreds of Mana stones remained.
"Very good!" I smiled. "Let's continue!"
"W.. wait!" Mia exclaimed exhausted.
"Hmm?"
"What happens to the hole?"
"Ah, right!"
I raised my hand, let mana flow into it, and cut a trench through the forest to the lake.
"So, there seems to be a small lake here on the island by tomorrow!" I said monotonously.
Then I collected the Mana stones, brought them to the treasure chamber, and returned.
"And, rested enough?" I asked her when I was back at her side.
"Yes!" she replied now energized.
"By the way, what level are you now?" I asked. "That was probably 300 monsters."
She looked at the 5-meter-wide trench, into which the water was now bubbling, filling my hole slowly with water.
"11," she said bewildered.
"Well then," I smiled, "let's keep going!"
We returned to the mainland and hunted all day. The weakest thing that crossed our path was sheep. But not normal sheep, but demon sheep, about as strong as an ogre.
An ogre is a middle-class monster, and the demon sheep is a lower-middle-class monster. They can also be classified in adventurer levels.
A goblin, for example, would be about F-class, an ogre C-class, a dragon S-class.
However, there can be individual variations, so individuals of the same species can leave their class, for example, by leveling up.
Like the Dragon God, or as it turned out, Demigod, would be an SS-class dragon. Baby dragons, on the other hand, can be B-class or, if they are a bit older, A-class.
The higher their rank, the more EXP they give. And depending on the rank, they give low, middle, or high-class Mana stones. Until they reach a rank where they form a special Mana stone, like Cerberus's fire attribute stone.
The demon sheep is typically D-class, lower-middle-class.
But since we need Mana stones from low-class monsters, we walked some valley towards the human land to encounter them there.
But only until we had enough; then we turned to stronger monsters.
...
"I can't go on, Leo!" Mia panted. She leaned backward onto the grass and looked at the pink-colored sky. "I need a break!"
"You've earned it," I smiled and lay down beside her.
We lay hidden in the waving grass, watching the clouds illuminated by the evening sun as they wandered.
After a while, I broke the comfortable silence; "So? What level are you?"
She sat up and exclaimed loudly, "I'm curious too! Status System!"

"Amazing!" she cried out. "Not much left, and my system will evolve!"
"Why didn't you help me earlier?" Mia asked indignantly, given her fast leveling speed.
"Haha, you didn't want to accept help," I laughed.
She turned her back to me with puffed-up cheeks. "Hmpf."
"And? Should we finish it today?"
"No!" she yawned. "No rush for me. How about you?"
I shook my head. "Then tomorrow!"
I took her hand, and we strolled along the lakeside.
As night fell, the clouds thickened, and it became colder, unfortunately obscuring the stars. When it started drizzling, we quickly returned to the castle.
We ate, washed up, and got ready for bed.
"Brrr!" my wife shivered and snuggled up to me.
"Are you cold?" I asked.
Mia nodded under the covers.
"Wait a moment," I said and got up. Then I started the fireplace in the bedroom and lay back in bed.
"Thanks," she mumbled and nestled against me.
I closed my eyes and listened to the sounds.
The rain pattered on the window, the fire crackled, and my wife breathed calmly in my arms. Satisfied, I closed my eyes, looking forward to the next day.
