Chapitre 44: Punishment

"Fifty more lashes," Han Xuelian decreed, informing one of his inner sect disciples with a black whip in their possession. "Chi Weiran, you've broken the rules of sportsmanship and defied match regulations. You raised your weapon with the intent to kill."

The Grandmaster's gaze darkened furiously, commanding absolute obedience from the Chi youngster who was flogged twenty times until fatigue gnawed at his bones and beckoned him to his knees.

After Chi Weiran's untamed swordsmanship during his match, he was immediately separated and detained away from the rest of the guest disciples. A few hours later when night had fallen, his fate was finally decided after a counsel congregation with the Sect Elders.

The inner sect disciples detained him in the Sanctuary hall where they currently gathered, restraining him with metal shackles imbued with a talisman's incantation.

It was a safety measure against Chi Weiran's rage for they did not trust his self-control.
