"Rumble! Boom!"
The cacophony of chaos echoed through the night, shattering the tranquility that had settled over the island.
The students in the dormitories, weary from the day's rigorous training, were on the cusp of sleep when the sudden explosion reverberated in their ears.
Their instincts, honed by countless drills and exercises, kicked in. They hastily donned their uniforms, grabbed their weapons, and rushed out into the night.
They had been trained for situations like this. Zed, the stern and unyielding marine officer, had led them through numerous simulated assaults.
The last one had been brutal, leaving most of the recruits injured and many eliminated from the Elite Training Camp. The memory of that night was still fresh in their minds, a stark reminder of the consequences of negligence. They quickly assembled in front of the dormitory, their faces set in grim determination.
A flash of light illuminated the horizon, drawing their attention. Without a moment's hesitation, they sprinted towards it.
"There's a major conflict on the north coast!" One of the students, his voice strained with urgency, shouted over the din.
...
Borsalino watched the unfolding scene with a fearful expression: "I think we're in deep trouble." He muttered, his gaze fixed on the purple-haired man standing not far away. Zed. The only person in the camp who could instill such fear in him.
Zed was at his peak, a formidable force to be reckoned with. Borsalino, on the other hand, was still struggling to master Haki.
He felt like a mouse cornered by a cat, helpless and vulnerable. The tension between them was palpable. Borsalino's over-reliance on his devil fruit ability and his disregard for Zed's physical training had always been a bone of contention.
Zed had little patience for Borsalino's attitude, and if it weren't for his Logia-Type devil fruit, Borsalino would have been expelled from the elite camp long ago.
On the coast, two figures stood facing each other, their forms illuminated by the eerie glow of their powers. One was enveloped in a shroud of magma, the other wreathed in crackling lightning.
It was a sight that left everyone present, including Zed, in awe.
Brontes, his arm transformed into a spear of lightning, had plunged it deep into Sakazuki's arm. The continuous burst of lightning clashed with the magma, creating a spectacle of raw, unbridled power.
Sakazuki, however, seemed unfazed by Brontes's attack. He had instigated this battle, and he was prepared for it.
The revelation that Brontes possessed a Logia-Type devil fruit had taken Sakazuki by surprise, causing him to react slower than usual.
"Rumble-Rumble Fruit! A Logia-Type devil fruit known for its destructive power, rivaling even my Magma-Magma Fruit." Sakazuki mused, his eyes never leaving Brontes.
Zed watched the battle unfold, his gaze intense.
"This devil fruit... it's been missing for a long time. I never expected it to resurface, let alone in the hands of that kid..." His voice trailed off, his mind already racing with the implications of this revelation.
As a high-ranking member of the Marine, Zed had access to a wealth of information about devil fruits, particularly the Logia-Type.
The lightning that enveloped Brontes was a clear indication of the type of devil fruit he possessed.
Zed had known for a while that Brontes was a devil fruit user, as many of their training sessions took place on the ocean. Brontes had come forward early on, revealing his inability to participate in water-based exercises due to his devil fruit.
However, Zed hadn't anticipated that Brontes was a Logia-Type user, and that his combat prowess was on par with Sakazuki and Borsalino.
"Zizi! Rumble!" Lightning erupted from Brontes, the sound akin to thousands of birds chirping in unison.
He was a sight to behold, a veritable God of Lightning, his presence exerting a terrifying pressure on all nearby creatures.
"Yes! That's the spirit! Let's keep this up!" Sakazuki roared, his face alight with excitement.
He had been the uncontested champion of the elite camp for too long. Aside from the occasional spar with Zed or the lackadaisical Borsalino, he had no worthy opponents.
Now, with another Logia-Type user in the mix, his excitement was palpable.
His body erupted in magma, the force of the explosion sending everything around him flying.
The beach beneath them transformed into a field of crystals as the intense heat from Sakazuki's magma met the soil.
"I didn't expect you to be this strong. If only I'd known earlier, we could've had so many exhilarating battles!" Sakazuki taunted, his voice filled with anticipation.
"Don't hold back. Give it your all, because I certainly will!"
With a laugh, Sakazuki raised his magma-encased fist and charged at Brontes.
"Great Eruption!" He bellowed, his voice echoing across the coast.
"Zizzizi! Rumble!!!"
Brontes, his face set in a serious expression, had no interest in engaging in banter with Sakazuki.
The latter's sneak attack had been a clear attempt to gauge his strength, and it had infuriated Brontes. From that moment, he had decided to teach Sakazuki a lesson he wouldn't forget.
"100,000,000 Volt Thunder Dragon!"
Brontes shouted, his voice reverberating through the air. The sky lit up, the sheer power of Brontes's thunder illuminating the entire expanse. It was a sight that left the onlookers in awe.
"Rumble!!!" Above Brontes, a gigantic lightning dragon materialized, reminiscent of Magellan's poisonous dragon. The dragon's head was so lifelike, it seemed as if a real dragon had descended upon the world.
"Rumble!! Roar!!" The lightning dragon soared into the sky, its roar echoing through the night, making the dark sky brighter than the day.
...
The students from the elite camp, who were sprinting towards the coast, came to a halt, their eyes wide with shock as they beheld the lifelike lightning dragon in the sky.
"W-What is t-that? In the s-sky is..." One of the students stuttered, his voice barely a whisper as he pointed at the colossal lightning beast.
"It's... a Lightning... D-Dragon!" Momonga managed to utter, his voice trembling with awe and fear.
The lightning dragon descended with a terrifying speed, its size dwarfing even Enel's Lightning Dragon.
"Rumble!! Boom!!"
The dragon's head collided with the magma fist, resulting in a massive explosion that echoed across the sky.
Magma and lightning clashed in a fierce battle of elements, the scorching heat of the magma meeting the sharp, crackling lightning.
"It's terrifying. They're fighting as if their lives depend on it. Sakazuki's sneak attack must have really angered him. I should steer clear of him for a while, in case he's still holding a grudge..." Borsalino muttered, his voice laced with worry as he watched the terrifying spectacle.
He also noted that Brontes was not only physically strong but had also developed his devil fruit ability far better than he had, despite his own focus on his devil fruit power.
The Rumble-Rumble Fruit was indeed one of the strongest Logia-Type devil fruits, boasting both destructive power and extreme speed.
After the furious clash, the magma fist and the lightning dragon both disappeared, leaving behind scorched black marks on the ground and scattered chunks of magma.
"Lightning Flash!"
Brontes murmured, disappearing in a blink of an eye. When he reappeared, he was already behind Sakazuki.
"Using lightning and Soru to accelerate his speed. Smart kid, he's already developing his own Rokushiki," Zed observed, nodding in approval.
He was pleased with Brontes's use of his devil fruit ability. Brontes was certainly faring better than Borsalino in harnessing his devil fruit power effectively.
Having a powerful devil fruit was advantageous, but possessing a strong physique was even more crucial, as they complemented each other's strengths and weaknesses.
Leveraging his speed, Brontes launched a barrage of attacks on Sakazuki from all directions. Sakazuki, who had yet to master Observation Haki, could only resort to fully elementalizing his body to withstand Brontes's relentless assault.
