Chapitre 55: I'm a divine being! Surprise!
"You see it started a long time ago in a galax-"
"Emelia, be serious."
Piotr was the one who spoke his exasperation evident from his tone.
"Ugh, fine... Look I'm not a mutant or alien, I'm something much weirder. I don't know if Illyana even knows about it, i can't remember, but..."
There was a long pause as they all waited in baited breath for my answer. Illyana looked slightly concerned as she stood beside Piotr, opposite of me. Everyone else had varying expressions of neutrality, a very different reaction than what i was assuming them to have.
"I am a Nephilim."
The silence was sustained until i could almost physically see question marks appear above almost everyone's heads, except Xavier, who looked at me as if I was a fantastical beat appearing out of no where in front of him.
"What the hell is a Nephilim?"
Logan and a few others mentioned at the same time, calling out into the room hoping someone would be able to tell them. Fortunately their plan seemed to have some basis in reality as Xavier very quickly reassumed a calm and collected façade, starting to speak up.
"A Nephilim is a being from the Talmud and The bible primarily, they are said to be creatures who are giants and contain both an aspect of Divinity and Corruption, or in other words, they are half Angelic being and half demonic being."
"Wait, demons and angels exist?"
I quickly chimed in.
"Yes they are, very real, my existence is proof."
Several gasps and gulps could be heard around the room as many people started having philosophical dilemmas and questions. Were the bible and Talmud true? Are they all fact? Have they been sinful? I could easily see the issues smattering across their emotions as my sixth sense somehow allowed me to feel it.
"Don't worry, I'm not certain but, you can't be certain that the religions are speaking the whole truth, as you know history and time can change fact, as people change it or things get misunderstood or misinterpreted... I mean it is quite easy for people to slowly change the rule 'Don't be a dick' to be something like 'Don't mess with another man's wife or woman's man. Etc.'"
I heard some relieved sighs echo from the group of people in front of me as Xavier eyed me up and down as if trying to analyse my existence. Illyana was blankly staring at me, her expression blank as well. Piotr wasn't any better either. They had both been brought up in Orthodox Christianity so it was hard for them to suddenly accept my claims in their own minds.
"Here, I'll give proof so that some people will be able to accept it better."
I cracked my neck to the right as the drawn wings suddenly withdrew and spread out around me, as if they were shielding my shoulders from attacks, before finally stretching to their full ten foot length.
Yet again another round of gasps escaped peoples' lips, my left eye twitching at their continuous gasping and sighing.
'They need to find another emote or I am gonna start calling them NPCs...'
[Heh, they certainly look like it right now.]
Finally after everyone had finished gawking and gasping for the twentieth time they all collected themselves.
"I-if i may be rude? What are the halves of? Like, what species?"
Rogue stepped forward raising her right hand slightly as if she were in class. Her uniform looked somewhat battered and bruised as she limped slightly on her right leg.
"Oh, yeah... I'm half Arch Angel, half Vampire Progenitor."
'I couldn't care if i hid it anymore, shits already gone down hill, may as well just go with the flow of it.'
'Oh yeah, sis? Do i have any achievements or anything?'
[I was going to wait until you were alone, but if you wanna do it now...]
'Nah, just do what you are doing, we'll speak later.'
Illyana collapsed to the floor as she heard me, my eyes fully trained on her as soon as it happened. I disappeared and reappeared right next to her as i noticed she was fully unconscious from the shock.
'What the fuck happened? What did i do? Did i make this happen?'
Panic must have spread to my expression as Piotr put his hand on my shoulder as he kneeled down next to Illyana checking her pulse only to release a held breath a few seconds later.
"She fainted, probably surprised, no worries."
'Thank fuck...'
I slipped backwards onto my ass as my hands were held out behind my back, palms down, so that i could balance my upper body. A few people laughed at the change in atmosphere, all of them watching my antics.
My wings were still out, their space like colouring and crimson outline drawing attention away from me as they continued to look. Seeing their stares i quickly drew them back in as i held Illyana in my hands.
Logan, Rogue and Slipstream all came forward to help Illyana to a chair but i merely ignored them as i held her in a princess carry and found a chair at the corner of the room where i set her down. I knew this was going to be a headache to get her to fully accept but i had to accept the challenge for her to be mine.
'Okay, she's fine, I'll just be a few meters away anyway.'
I walked back to the centre of the room, everyone making way for me as i quickly reclaimed my position in the middle of the group, among Xavier, Jean and Cyclops.
When i got back there i was asked a few more simple questions about what i was but the conversation soon started to drift more towards the biblical aspect of the scenario.
"If you wouldn't mind, i would like to talk about the plans to take down Stryker's creepy bunker base under Alkali Lake's dam, not to mention the acquirement of his secret documents."
"Ah yes of course..."
Xavier was instant with his response as the rest completely quietened down to allow Xavier and the other main 'leaders' of the group to speak.
"Stryker's Base is relatively easy as we could just send a team to apprehend everyone there and i can use some of my connections within the government as well as Jean's connections as a doctor to get word to the President that there has been a black operation operating under his nose without his permission..."
"Sounds good, but I'll let him know when i got the Oval office in a little bit."
He put up his finger for a moment before lowering it in exasperation as he couldn't think of a reason to deny her, especially considering her origins and power.
"The second problem?"
"Ah yes, well let's just say i know a little girl that can run through walls..."
'Ah, that line, seems the timeline is still tickling the current events.'
"Okay sounds good, I'll leave that up to you. Ah, also, I want to release Magneto..."
"..."
