Chapitre 36: Surprise!
Silence enveloped the room as Illyana became surprised, looking towards the new appendages I have sprouting from my back. My grimace only lasted a small while until I stepped back and smiled as delicately as possible.
"Sorry about this..."
I gestured to my wings, that now that I had looked, had gained a crimson shimmer amongst the twinkling white stars that emerged from her black and white angel wings.
"Holy shit... W-what are you? Are you an angel?"
"Okay, Anakin Skywalker... Yes, I suppose you could call me an Angel, of sorts. Please just calm down, I'll explain."
"W-wait so, does god exist? Does the Devil exist?"
I started rubbing my temples as I slowly withdrew my wings. 'This is probably going to take some time.' Following the reveal they all asked questions mainly pertaining to Heaven and Hell.
"So Heaven and Hell exist?"
"Hmm, let me check."
I slowly extended a power that I hadn't used a great deal. Nephilim Paragon. I expended some mana to fuel the ability, specifically Sacrosanct Nexus which was a part of the skill. I felt multiple different tugs, and I opened my eyes to find myself on a planet where there were several door ways. Some were grey and colourless whilst others were the brightest or darkest colours. Every door was different but I could intrinsically feel that they were dimensions within this multiverse and possibly outside of it.
Pulling my concentration towards discovering Heaven and Hell, all the doors suddenly vanished the my vision zoomed into a new part of the planet where two doorways stood. One door was the purest white, whilst the other was the the most corrupted black. On these doors small carving were made, the white door containing a carving of a tree with an apple dangling, the black with a snake coiling around the feet of a woman.
I quickly cut the connection as I found myself back in the same room, Tony, Pepper and Illyana waiting for my response.
"Yes they are real, but they are dimensions adjacent to reality... There is an infinite amount of dimensions, so whatever extradimensional space you can think of probably exists in some form out there."
"O-okay, this is a lot, Tony maybe we should tone back our questions, were probably stressing Emelia out."
"Haah, your probably right... Emelia, your an angel correct?"
I nodded then cocked my head slightly, waiting for his actual question.
"Why are you here on earth, I understand barely anything about magic and I must confess I don't really care for it... But why are you here and why are you protecting me?"
'... I knew it would come to this.'
"I am here because I am, don't specifically know why. I'm protecting you because it's my way of getting on the good side of The Ancient One."
'Plus there is a mission, although, I'm thinking of declining the teachings of The Ancient One and just asking for access to their library.'
[I can help with that sis, I can change the reward, as long as you can convince the ancient sorcerer then there will be no issues.]
'Okay, that is good... Wait, if she can see the future won't she already know about my decision. Damn, didn't think of that.'
[He he, glad you noticed.]
"Wait, 'The Ancient One', who is that?"
Tony was the one asking questions right now as Illyana and Pepper just sat behind the kitchen bench drinking some coffee. Illyana, looked a little shaken but her eyes never showed any fear or trepidation at what I was. 'Good, I was thinking she'd hate me.'
As I was about to answer a sparking portal opened directly beside me, orange in colour and blowing snow into the room. Tony quickly grabbed the suitcase and actually equipped it now. Pepper got down off of her chair and started to duck, while Illyana rapidly started moving around the kitchen towards me.
"Stop! Calm down, she doesn't mean any harm!"
I yelled out to them to stop their overreactions, I did this because I spotted the familiar bald head of the sorcerer supreme, The Ancient One. She was dressed in flowing yellow robes and seemed untouched despite the arctic conditions on the other side of the portal.
"Well, I didn't expect you to reveal yourself to people Emelia but it doesn't matter I suppose. Hello all I am the Sorceress Supreme of Earth."
I looked at her in bewilderment as my mind tried to understand the constantly chaotic and changing world around me, this definitely wasn't the movies' version of Marvel. Maybe they were the comics, or its just pure madness as multiple different stories have collided together.
"Anyway, i have come here not for you all but for Emelia."
I facepalmed as frustration started to billow out of my expression.
"What is it, I'm on the mission you sent me on..."
"Yes, well, it seems that the timeline is in chaos. You should still finish the mission but be careful as I cannot support you with foresight any longer. Before you ask, no, I don't know what has happened."
"Well, shit..."
"Yes, anyway, nice to meet you all. Illyana, Tony, Pepper, good day."
She quickly went straight back through the same portal she came out of and with that abrupt greeting and apt departure the trio of people were left stunned, shocked and quite possibly bamboozled. I laughed inside my mind, their expressions were funny, looks of shock plastered across their faces as Tony had his jaw somewhat open at the chaotic happenings that had occurred within the last minute, this was the same with Pepper. Illyana was especially funny as she became like a deer in headlights, her eyes completely widened and her beautifully pert mouth opened in exasperation.
'The time line being in chaos though... What is happening? Is the TVA even here in this multiverse? Something i have to check out at some point... It seems like there is no way that we can fix it especially seeing that The Ancient One acted so hasty.'
'Looks like I'll have to become as powerful as quickly as I can, so I can protect those I care about.'
I looked over towards Illyana who was finally starting to calm down a little with the disappearance of the portal and the ancient one. I watched her calm return my expression softening as my stress and own frustration started to subside somewhat.
[I'll be here to help sis.]
'Thanks.'
