Chapitre 20: Sonia Plan

Two days later, they were involved in an accident.

Ginger joined the rescue team with her parent connection; she guided them to where the event had taken place at that time. But when they get there, they can only see the evidence in the area that a life-and-death battle has happened.

Mel, who does not really love using a bow, began her training after seeing a precise and very elegant bow from Felix. She couldn't get moving on after all; Felix taught them all in a craftsman class.

She could see the big difference between them; she had firepower, but she was unable to hit. Which has made her regret that she does not train well with bows; after all, she can throw. But the arrow is different as if they can hit everything; this is what she saw in Felix. Seeing the ogre's eye is really impossible for the archer, even by the world ranking it; it is impossible to fight it head-on.

Alisha, traumatized by the incident, sought psychiatric help. Since that day, she frequently called Felix, despite encountering Ginger, Mel, and Elina. But the school can't let her go home until she recovers emotionally or if she still stays.

Elina, the most disappointed in herself, was regarded as a genius by her family. But she can't even save one person in a life-or-death situation.

In the woman's dormitory, Sonia is from the blue wormhole, where the accident happened a few days ago.

"It's unbelievable! Two unique monsters!" Elina remarked to Sonia, still grappling with the reality of the incident two days later, despite the tangible evidence.

Upon entering her dorm room, Sonia overheard sobbing from another room. Sonia already knows who was crying.

Elina was holding a bracelet, even though she wore her own. It was Felix's bracelet. Sonia knew that Elina blamed herself for being powerless in times of need.

"Elina!" Sonia called out.

Sonia can feel that Elina has something.

'This girl doesn't cry; even when her mother died, she never shed a tear, but when I see her now. She must have been really, really hurt in this accident,' Sonia thought.

Seeing Elina now breaks her heart.

"Why are you crying?" Even though the answer was obvious, Elina found herself admiring Felix in the way she looked at him.

"You know he's braver than he looks!" Elina always said this to Sonia.

Since their entrance exam, she'd taken an interest in him, often catching herself stealing glances at him. Even during wall creation, their notebooks and notes were strikingly similar; she often found herself borrowing his notebook.

Felix scored the highest in quizzes and writing activities, proving he was smarter than he appeared.

"I'm sorry, I was useless; I'm a mage, but I couldn't do anything at that time! Wahhh!" Elina burst into tears.

"Okay, okay, calm down!" Sonia struggled to console her, only able to wait out the emotional moment.

"There's no other choice; you're not stopping your tears," Sonia muttered.

At dawn, Steve, Sonia, Mel, and Elina geared up with masks and equipment, waiting for the rescue team to enter the wormhole. Security was lax at this hour, making it an opportune time for infiltration.

Dawn marked a period when monsters were less aggressive.

"Shush, Steve, don't cling to me; you're heavy!" Sonia pushed Steve away.

"This was your plan, but did you expect us to be comfortable in this small space?" Steve protested.

"This is the only area we can hide," Sonia retorted.

"Why are you here?" Sonia directed the question at Mel, who was invited by Elina.

"I'm here to save my prince!" Mel proclaimed.

As they observed people approaching, Sonia recognized them as the rescue team, the only group scheduled to enter the wormhole at that hour.

"They're here! Are you ready?" Steve asked as the team approached.

The three girls nodded in affirmation.

Sonia cast a buff spell for attack and defence on Steve, lasting 24 hours. Steve, clad in full armor and wielding a sword, led the front, while Sonia and Elina served as mages and support, carrying a bag filled with potions, food, and other necessities. Mel, equipped with an arrow capable of inducing sleep and a small bag, carried all the weapons bought by Sonia.

The arrow tip was not made out of sharp metal but was made of a bottle that was easy to break. Inside it contains a highly potent sleeping powder. If you smell it for 12 hours, you will sleep eternally. But when you smell it for 30 seconds, You will sleep forcefully.

As the rescue team entered the wormhole, Mel swiftly shot her bow, hitting two guards accurately. The arrow released the powder into the air.

"How? Luck," Elina marveled at Mel's newfound accuracy with the bow, recalling her previous terrible skill.

"Let's go!" Sonia urged Elina, pulling her attention away from Mel.

"Well, my prince, here we come!" Mel exclaimed, drawing questioned looks from the group.

They looked at her, seemingly asking for clarification.

"W-what?" Mel was taken aback by their reaction as if they found what she said unbelievable. After all, they did not see Felix when he was fighting the ogre.

Following the route of the rescue team, they found out the area where they fought the ogre. The trees were down, and the area was really devastated.

However, the rescue team didn't follow the path indicated by the fallen trees; instead, they continued along a narrow road-like route.

"Are they dumb?" Sonia said.

"This isn't how it was!" Elina exclaimed, shocked by the area's heightened devastation, far worse than when she teleported.

Steve, without speaking, sought out the disturbed area.

Everyone followed Steve. Then, almost at midday, they encountered a group of blue goblins.

With a swift sword slash, Steve, usually less proactive, effortlessly dispatched the goblins in an instant.

"Wow!" All the girls were taken aback. They hadn't anticipated Steve's ability to effortlessly defeat all the goblins with a single strike.

Then, Elina led them along the trail left by the fallen trees, which seemed as though they were caused by a large rampaging creature.

"It must have been an ogre's rage when it pursued Felix," Sonia hypothesized, observing the surroundings.

"Spider! Human-sized!" Mel exclaimed upon spotting a spider hanging from a tree. Suddenly, it leapt towards them.

Steve took the blow. Sonia prepared her healing spell while Elina stood ready to cast magic upon Steve's command.

"Watch out for the smaller ones!" Steve warned the girls as smaller spiders prepared to attack. With Steve's strength and Sonia's buff, Steve resisted the spider's assault and kicked it several meters away.

Mel shot arrows at the small spider. Five arrows lodged into its abdomen, killing it.

"Nice!" Steve praised.

The larger spider then targeted Mel, but Steve intervened, severing one of its eight legs.

"Kisssssssshhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiii!" It cried out. The sound was creepy, but the spider continued its attempt to counterattack Steve. Steve deflected the spider, causing a knockback effect and stunning it momentarily.

"Elina, target its legs!" Steve directed.

"Yes! Wind Cutter!" Elina cast a spell in the shape of a wind-made fan, cutting all the remaining legs of the spider.

"Rapid Fire!" Mel utilized her skill, firing three arrows almost simultaneously, all hitting the spider's abdomen.

"She's really improved!" Elina praised Mel. Her accuracy in the attack, which Elina had initially attributed to luck, now seemed skillful and precise.

Then the spider cried one last time and did not move anymore.
